The bulldogs are white hot. A break might short circuit it. Then again a break before the GF is uncharted territory. There are no precedents to compare.

It takes it back to the final 5 days. 1st gets week off, wins 2nd semi and another week off before the GF

And still not as hot as us.

Absolutely I’m sick of it.

my favourite BS line is the one game in 27 days nonsense. Or you could add two days and it’s 3 games in 29 days.
Who gives AF?!

Us vs Them mentality would be a suprising reason for a team to win a grand final... just sayin....

I'd suspect its more about better talent and better systems...

He has publicly said doesn’t want to go and is happy to watch from home.

Not sure why this petition is still going?

He said publicly that he doesn’t want preferential treatment. But another reason that isn’t being publicised is probs that it would take too much out of him. The petition should be abandoned imo.

Thanks for letting me know BBP & WCW. Wish I'd known this and then I wouldn't have signed.

Tell me about it! It is all I'm hearing. Anyone gonna make the slightest suggestion that this might kill the Dogs momentum?

Ross Lyon even said that although we did well after the QF bye that it now grows exponentially the need for intense match practice.

I'd like to hear how the Dogs would have had nothing to lose but with another week to think about it the pressure is now on!

Yes the 1 in 27 games negative theory.   What can we do about it?

Non Melbourne people want us to lose.  They'll say they want the dees to win.  But they don't mean it.  Commentators, pundits, all year long, just have not given us the credit.  I've been saying for years of suffering that there is only one way and one way only to shut them all up.  That day arrives on Saturday week.

Ta.

i will listen on catch up radio.

But i will do so when i can be relaxed becuase King will absolutely do my head in.

Jennings is not too  bad, but there is something about the way he talks about the game that really annoys me too.

So no doubt i'll be annoyed.

Perhaps i'm just a grumpy old bastard

Prediction about things that will annoy me:

  • reading too much into round 19
  • not considering loading being a factor in that game
  • not considering that goody trialed stuff in round 19 - he wont be experimenting in the GF
  • pointing our the fact that Mcrae, Bont and Daniels knocked up getting possessions, saying we will lose if that occurs again (thanks Captains Obvious)
  • not considering why we didn't put any defensive work into those 3 players  (eg keeping our powder dry, not showing our tactical hand, messing with bevo etc)
  • not pointing out the fact Bowey came into the side the next game and why we might have made that call
  • not pointing out we have been unbeaten since that game
  • reading too little into round 11 (it's so long ago, no relevant any more, this a new season etc etc)
  • David King
  • Jenning's use of metaphors and themes
  • Jenning's taking every opportunity to highlight the various teams and coaches he coaches and/or advises

Logged onto the public queue today to see what it was like for the remaining 10,250 tickets.  It blew me away.  I joined 15 minutes before it opened (Yes late) I was 117,000 odd int he queue.  Looks a screen shot a few minutes after it opened. (Whats with the 47k limit on images?)

Dogs not playing a practice game is a huge mistake in my opinion. i think that's pretty common place in finals byes to have a pretty intense match sim in between, Hawthorn, Richmond and co have all done it, bit of a risk by the dogs to help a few sore/underdone players i'd say.

Hope that's accurate. Media going on about how we've played one match in 28 days, and a am easy one at that. The Dogs/port game was a lot softer than ours, and then two weeks without a hitout. Could work in our favour big time.

Yeah the thing is though, we have played 1 match is 28 days, where as the dogs have travelled to Tasmania, brisbane, adelaide, perth and played several games in the last 5 weeks, so we are undoubtedly going to have much more run in our legs. it's just going to be a question of reflexes and being "match fit" and after belting the cats by 83 points, i'd say we are fine.

if dogs are skipping a practice match, to me the only conclusion is they know they're banged up and unless they can get some rest in they'd know we're going to be running a lot better than they are.

Dees fanatics. Don’t be afraid any more. Come out of the shadows.  Be proud. We are Demons once again.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
