JV is the player in the league that I would least want to play on…it’s life and death for him…an absolute animal

Viney is like Steve Waugh. If he was on your team you'd absolutely love him, and if he was on the opposing team, you'd hate his guts like nothing else.

Most amazing day of my life. Celebrated hard, Demonfolk. @AmsterdamDeesFan and I took to the canals of Amsterdam and made sure everyone could get familiar with the lyrics of the song in prep for the Granny in two weeks. Need fifteen hours of sleep before I watch the replay for the third time. One more win!

Go you beautiful, magnificent Demons

[censored] off Cats. Don’t cheapen our win by saying you had the sniffles. Once you step out on the pitch you are fit to play

whinging pusssies

Whats been their excuse for all the other prelim and finals losses over the past 10 years?

They've consistently failed for a long period of time. Their list and game plan aren't up to it. I hope they continue to make excuses for themselves because as long as they do they won't address the real issues and will continue to fail.

if its true that the cats had a virus rip through their team during a pandemic, WTF were they doing playing?! i hope that MFC are given special consideration if any of our players get sick as a result of GFC playing infected players.. whether its COVID or the flu, is irrelevant.. players shouldn't play with anything viral anymore..

Hard to not see this in an MFCSS light. The win was just fascistic, but if the cats were crook …

“Gary Rohan will remain at the club in 2022, while Josh Jenkins is set to finish up.”

I guess just in case they make finals again? 🙄

Any Perth DLers who were there on Fri night know what song they played straight after the Melbourne song? I really want to know but can’t quite hear it on the coverage. Has a nice beat :)

Sorry mate but I wasn’t focused on that. 😂

Never really a fan of the show...but this seems appropriate:

Jenkins  performed as well as Rohan in the Prelim, why wouldn’t they give him another year?

Just wondering if someone who catered for the cats could have laced their Whiskas with Ratsak? The New Zealand Rugby team were nobbled before the final of the 1995 World Cup.

Or so they claimed. Couldn't face getting beaten and was that the game they had already organised the parade for when they won the cup. Arrogant doesn't even come close.

I did hear Wide Open Road by the Triffids at some point, although i am not sure it was straight after the Melbourne song.

Idk about Charlie but Banksy definitely is! Speaking of Massive Attack and being that it’s the 20th anniversary of 9/11, immediately after the attack in 2001, Massive Attack temporarily changed their name to Massive. This was out of respect and just another reason to love them.

They would have had to get a clearance from the AFL to play and there is no way if the AFL thought any of them were even slightly contagious with anything that they would have let those players play. If they had fevers as reported, once the fever break you are likely to not be contagious.

I highly doubt any of them were so sick that they couldn’t play. Geelong didn’t make any late changes on game day and they were drinking beer the next day at the pub. Couldn’t have been that sick.

When’s the podcast this week? I’m going to need to hear Binman’s overconfidence to calm the nerves.

Andy: goooooooood evening demonlanders, the demons beat geelong by 83 points but with the dogs thrashing Port Adelaide in the other game my MFCSS is worse than ever and I can’t help but think this is just setting us up for the greatest of disappointments, losing the grand final in a repeat of 1954.

George: If beating the cats three times in one season hasn’t cured your MFCSS yet nothing will.

binman: Don’t worry Andy, we’ll smash em, absolutely smash em.

I disagree. The opposite is true.

Will the cats use this as an excuse to continue the same trodden path and not make necessary changes to their list and style - if they can. Its possible they will and "  gee , we could beaten those Dees if only we hadn't had a crook oyster from the buffet...."

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
