GAMEDAY: PF vs Geelong

I was edgy after the semi finals, felt comfortable mid-week, and am now a complete mess. I have no idea how I will survive the next 12 hours, let alone the game itself.

PS: GAGF NRL for putting the Storm on at the same time.

Have disliked Scofield intensely since he dropped Oliver with an 'elbow upper cut' at a break, was reported, appealed and got off.  Media claimed Oliver took a dive.

I find that article extremely unpleasant and tbh disrespectful.  We were naive on and off the field but what is the point to be dredging that stuff up now.   Chest beating, ra ra by yesterday's heroes.

He's a former Geelong Falcon so probably a Cats supporter growing up.

When I read that, I wondered why an ex Eagles player would bring that up. Doing a bit of research gave me the answer. Grew up in Geelong

The build up and demon support in the media for this game is pretty strong,  how can we stand two weeks of MEDIA if or when we win tonight.  Only the A game demons.  Go hard all night

I think the cats will deploy the same strategy tonight.

Stop Oliver and we'll stop Melbourne.

I don't think they can tag him out of it but they'll try and take him out for sure. I know others will stick up for him, but I reckon Selwood and Dangerfield will be out to hurt Clarry at any cost.

I wonder how much the umps will protect him and the scragging on him that happens every week.

Geez the nerves have kicked in this morning! How bloody good would it be to send the Geelong aged care facility packing, short of another grand final, and head into ours in form, with momentum.

I do genuinely feel the winner of tonights game will be premier, port are too flakey against good teams, and the dogs are too banged up.

Sense of calm over me the past 2 weeks is still with me. Very unusual considering the position we find ourselves in.

Geelong would have to play their best game of the season and we'd have to play our worst.

Can't see it happening.  It's our time!

Well they haven’t protected Oliver  to date, so why would they start now. They will be too busy dealing with the constant free kick appeals of Selwood and Hawkins.

I'm as nervous as most - I'm using the 2018 EF as a reference point that when we bring it, and it's a hot game, we're better than them.

And we're 3 years better than we were in 2018. And they're 3 years closer to retirement.

It's working for me so far.

I realise it's the pointy end of the season, and we're neck deep in it, and in the drivers seat, and so everyone needs a bit of cheering up ...

A few snippets from the GFC bigfooty match preview:

With geelong showing at the selection table they have no intent of moving tge ball on quickly we are now look foward to next season bar some massive choke from melbourne.

Judging by social media posts this week if we somehow beat the Dees there is going to be a whole lot of salt in the air, its unbelievable how much we are hated.

I notice watching replays of last weeks game against GWS just how many times Cats players sidestepped and sold candy, particularly in D50. Not just Bews either. Selwood, Tuohy, Duncan. Happened so much I feel it must be an instruction. A simple action like that gains you at least 20 extra meters and an element of surprise for defensive structures oppositions set up ahead of the ball coming out of our D50.

Dees will smash us in the ruck and will smash us in the middle...:(

Most of their comments are not about tonight's match itself, but about next season and rebuilding. They've given up already!

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
