Brought in to deal with quarantine issues with McLaughan and his cronies. Even though the bye might appear to disadvantage us, there are a few pros:

- we performed very strongly after our last bye last night, so following a similar program where we have an intense inter-club match effectively again should do the trick;

- the Bulldogs have got some momentum now in the finals... it halts that;

- it gives May a chance to recover and play - he's super important to our structure.

Also they have an additional week I. Quarantine in WA whilst our boys will get to enjoy some genuine r and r. This is a huge mental advantage.

At least we know now what the Bulldogs have got. If any over confidence or complacency has crept in it will be wiped now. No way I expect us to not show up like Port at the start. Port were exposed for what they were. Flat track bullies and bathwater drinkers.

Libba is a slang term for sperm in Maltese. They used to shout it with a lot of other expletives at Sunshine George Cross games I'd go to a long time ago.

Inside the minds of the Port midfield.

Trying to find another device to get both on!

Spurs down to 10…. Come on Palace

It comes down to the best team on the day. 2 rested teams, its totally unpredictable! You can argue us to win but I can't seperate us and them which sets up an intriguing Grand Final. I wish it was clearer.

This is seriously embarrassing effort from Port. They’ve had a free ride not having to leave home for over a month, while all the other clubs have had to travel and quarantine for finals. Dogs weren’t even allowed to train in Adelaide!
Hinkley should get the sack for this. He’s been there a decade and it’s been a decade of almosts. What an embarrassing performance tonight by the power.

Dogs had their training run tonight...

1-1 over in Perth so far. We're yet to hit our best form this season.

The cats you could give a minor pass on their pathetic showing given they are an ageing list and we had the week off, but Port should be absolutely ashamed of that effort tonight. They had every reason to come out the stronger team but they were pathetic. An embarrassment. Once and for all proved that they were pretenders that didn’t deserve to finish as high as they did.

Bring on the dogs, despite the final ladder position they finished I felt they were the second best team across the year. Now it’s time we proved it.

And who dresses the Channel 7 men’s crew? Those four at the end there looked like gooses. “It’s called far-shen, look it up”

They way a team performs during the season is the way they perform in the finals, port has the worst record against the top 6 teams.

2 weeks time.
Bulldogs won't know what hit 'em.

Caught the game a bit later.  Port put on the most pitiful effort except for about 10 minutes at the start of the 3rd.  The skill errors were non-stop and they couldn't handle the pressure.  Except for beating the dogs in rd23, they have been poor against good pressure sides all year and it showed tonight.  Dogs are a big danger, would have liked to have played them next week with a rest for them.  Given how poor PS were, its hard to get a clear red on the dogs.

Our team should have done their homework like they have done for the last 2 contenders.

Possibly but Naughton is so much more agile than Petty. The closest we have is Smith imo.

id go:

Smith on Naughton

May on English

Petty on Schache

Hibberd on Weightman

Lever on Hannan

DOnt ask who I’d drop for Smith though.

Who would you drop for Smith?

  • CASEY: Richmond

    The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
    Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

    It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
