Do we bring a tall defender in?

Who do you have in mind?

I completely understand that it is not as simple a take is this but when the camera crosses there bloody hell Hinkley looks completely lost in the box

Was hoping Port would save this performance for the Grannie. Oh well…… Not happy to facing the Dogs, but our pressure will muzzle them……as long as we bring it.

This is seriously embarrassing effort from Port. They’ve had a free ride not having to leave home for over a month, while all the other clubs have had to travel and quarantine for finals. Dogs weren’t even allowed to train in Adelaide!
Hinkley should get the sack for this. He’s been there a decade and it’s been a decade of almosts. What an embarrassing performance tonight by the power.

Will be interesting what impact a weeks break will do to the bulldogs?

Will it make them leggy in the GF?

Won't matter, GF is outside the 12 day concussion protocol.  ACLs yor lower-body bone breaks would do the trick.

Examples where you’d expect to hear this phrase “a coat of paint would do the trick” or “a layer of mulch would do the trick.” Definitely NOT the way you’ve used it. 😂

The Port fans don't like him because they think he is a hopeless match day coach, unable to change gears. This is their nightmare scenario.

Stefan Martin's the Dogs' worst player tonight, by a mile.

The question is whether he improves with a week off.

If this is his effort in the GF, I'll gladly take that match up.

Keath will replace Gardiner or Cordy. They'll bring Weightman back but if Martin holds his spot, they'll have to drop Vandermeer or Johannisen.

We couldn't have played worse the last time we played the dogs. We will be fine

I’d rather play the Bullies. Gawn will smash English in the ruck, and we have better midfield connection at present - than when we played them. Also, Allir Alir smashed us down back for Port last time - won’t miss that. I was hoping the Bullies won tonight. We will beat them. They are going to have to rely on their midfield kicking goals. And it’s unlikely they will continue to do that.

You know it makes sense.

To be fair to the supporters he’s had a good run at it. This is a sacking type game for him…you can understand the cats performance last night more than this one from port

Two of the worst chokes of all time. 2020 and 2021 they’ve had a dream bloody run into and in finals. Two home prelims where they played like absolute gutless morons.

Just one example....

He's allowed Daniels to play his preferred defensive sweeper role all night mopping up at back of stoppage.  What's one of the coaching manual mantras...."try and neutralise or take away the known knowns"

Volkano will have some explaining to do for this pathetic performance. His love child Rozee is a dud

I thought the Celtics were a basketball team based in Boston Maldonboy?

Just to explain - the 's' on Celtic is possessive.

My Scottish wife and her entire family are rabid Rangers fans, and I follow Celtic because of my grandmother. It's a wonder the wedding went ahead actually.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.
