Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Just had this conversation with my daughter when she asked "what do we do next year? No curse, no "haven't won a 1st round"?

I said "the narrative has changed. Everyone is now chasing us. We are the best."

MFCSS is dead and buried.

MFCSS is DEAD DEAD DEAD The Undertaker killed it in a buried alive match

Can we somehow prevail upon the MCC to allow a ceremony like Lou Richards was allowed for burying the Colliwobbles?

To all of us who suffer from MFCSS (Andy, this means you too), it's time to let it go. Cleanse your psyches. It's no longer relevant. The next phase is to not get too arrogant, to learn to enjoy success like a normal person. I'm not sure how I'll go but I'm trying. A friend was a long suffering Royboy, confessed that after the Lions third consecutive flag, it wasn't as satisfying. A bit like too many chocolates. However, I'm willing to test that hypothesis.

I think a form of MFCSS or at least some of the symptoms will always be there. Sure the no premiership aspect is forever gone but I just want my team to win and be successful. I certainly am not embarrassed in any way to tell people who I barrack for anymore.

There was always that nervous giggle when I would tell people "ha ha I go for Melbourne, yeah I know, no I'm not off to the snow, well I do have a Range Rover but that's besides the point".

If in a few years (and hopefully it's a lot further away) we fall into a heap and become a basket case those symptoms will come flooding back. It won't quite be the "woe is us we'll never win a flag" type thing but it all comes back to me wanting us to win and be successful on and off the field.

I'm sick of being last or mediocre or the butt of the joke and the premiership might change that for a few years but I still want us to win and be the best, be competitive and make finals at the very least.

If we hit rock bottom or become also rans I'm sure some aspects will flood back. Look at Carlton supporters. I have a lot of mates who I have personally diagnosed with Stage 2 CFCSS. These arrogant [censored] would tease me mercilessly about not having a flag no matter how many times we beat them in games and finals. I had no comeback to that. Thankfully that is no longer an issue. I won't be as arrogant as they were about it as I'm not 12 but I have a new found air of confidence about me that I hope will last. A few more flags might turn me into an insufferable [censored].

They're still in their denial phase and are a long way off the acceptance phase. I hear them all up and about in preseasons just like we were for 30 years saying this'll be our year. False dawns aplenty down there. Poor bastards kids are embarrassed to wear their footy jumpers at school. They could be the true generation of CFCSS sufferers

In 1987 we made the finals and were looking to break a 23 year drought. My MFCSS was slowly built on during the next 34 years to the full blown case you have all seen recently. 34 years between 1987 and 2021. That's 11 more years than the distance between 1964 and 1987. No wonder I was a basket case. Those scars don't just melt away. I have footy's form of PTSD from that trauma. It can never truly go away. I want more premierships so if things go south the MFCSS won't wait 34 years to build into a raging hot mess.

My medicine will be to whack on the 2021 Grand Final and that should soothe me for awhile.

Or I could quietly take solace in my Carlton friends misery as they enter their 27th year without a flag and their memories of 1995 slowly fade.

It’s gone. We have to accept that we aren’t the whipping boys anymore.

Demons are now the top team and the ones to beat.

Now even the non-existent “curse” is gone. Now we can stop using it for an excuse if we don’t win a grand final.

Only Hawthorn are a team that we owe grand final revenge against. All other we have beaten  in grand finals.

Melbourne football club super smug…

Whats wrong with that???

I've already consulted Hawk supporting mates on lessons in being smug. Also asked if they had any training manuals for smugness as they won't be needing them in the foreseeable future

I might be getting the hang of this

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
