Great work, and well earned Bowser!

Very well deserved. Bowey is tracking to be even better than Christian Salem, which would be a rare feat.

Just out of curiosity, what's the record for Rising Star nominations by one club in a season? I really can't imagine it being higher than our four.

Jesus Jason Taylor is certainly churning them out!

Well done Bowser 👏

Think GWS had about 8 nominations in their first season.

If I can recall, we also had 4 nominations in 2016 being Oliver, Petracca, Harmes and OMac.

Well deserved.

I reckon we've found one here.

Damn right we've found one.
He's a bewdy.

I love this kid already. We have kept him nice and secret and fresh for the finals. What a brilliant player he is going to be for us over the next decade and a half. Well done Jake! I was coach of the1973 Cheltenham High(Jake's recent School) footy team. I also coached the late and great Trevor Barker at the same school. Looks like my coaching skills live on. Ha ha. But I really did coach Trev at Chelt High.Go Dees you CAN Do It!!!!

He’s looked as good in just first three games as I can remember any Melbourne debutant.

I knew nothing of him before he was getting senior games (didn’t see him at Casey) but he has totally blown me away just how good he is already.

Not sure on the record but don't think there would be many of any teams that are top 4 and potentially minor premier's with 4. Kudos to the recruitment, development , fitness and coaches.

This kid is sharp! You can just see he's playing within himself - just doing the team things and finding his feet

I can't wait to see him get comfortable out there

Are you referencing your optics there @Chook or particular stats?

My optics say he's come out've the blocks far quicker than Salem.
I'm with Clint.

Agree.
Gonna be the slice and dice weapon we've been crying out for IMO.

Oh wow!

Well done, Jake.

So we received 5 nominations in the AFLPA Under 22s squad and that didn't include Jake. This is a magnificent result for the club.

How can you get a rising star nom when you’ve played 150 games?

Yep, well done, Chelty. Great result. Milne's son was at Chelt too. Not sure what happened to him. Didn't appear to be picked up by the Saints.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
