As predicted, the Darwin fiasco has led to us losing the Friday night against the Dogs in Round 20, with a Saturday night game given instead. So Essendon v Sydney gets the Friday night slot.

Should at least be on Channel 7.

    Is the spin off in having prime time viewing slots being able to attract club sponsors or is there some sort of a direct monetary correlation ? 

    I'd guess that both those games would now be the free to air Channel 7 matches with those time slots. Thankfully I'll be at the second one and won't have to listen to BT & Brayshaw.

    Why? The Suns are giving up their home game. It’s probably a bit of an advantage to us to play them at a neutral venue.

    It's just annoying that we miss out on a friday night game because we have to play in darwin. 

    I mean come on the top 2 teams most likely get shafted to the Saturday night game and essendon get another free hit on a friday night. 

    As I said it wouldn't happen to collingwood or richmond or geelong if they were on top and have been for the season.

    Never befriend anyone who gets married during the footy season. 

    I don’t think we will get less people at the game being a Saturday night. In fact I think we will get more. It’s a much more family friendly and work friendly time slot. And still FTA exposure. Really no complaints and most importantly we get a decent break after that joke of a fixture in round 19!

    Our flights back from GC were changed from Saturday arvo on the 31st to Sunday arvo on the 1st, so my family and I got dudded twice.

    I don't get what the difference is between free-to-air on a Friday night and free-to-air on a Saturday night. Both are equally attractive to me.

    The worst scheduling is the Saturday twilight "pink women" game this weekend. Ruins the whole idea with the poor timeslot.

    They could have switched the Dogs to Saturday and Syd/Freo to Sunday

    Friday night is one game national telecast.

    Saturday night... two games split telecast

      Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

      It’s game day and the Demons are chasing a fourth straight win as we take on the high flying Hawks at the G. After decades of being tormented by the Hawks the Dees will be keen to extend their 7 year dominance over Hawthorn.

    • NON-MFC: Round 09

      Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos.
