Didn't see it - was it in play?

Who could fill his rôle?

Super important player. guessing Baker comes in. big shoes to fill

Baker has not shown anything and does not run as hard devensively, I’d give someone else a go.  Push ANB to the wing and bring in Bedford

Good opportunity for Oscar Baker to show his wares. Langdon is among our best but with the system we have I reckon Baker can step up.

You've got system but Baker can't cover the K's Langdon does.

Not many can, a huge loss...

This is probably the go if Lingers is out

Nibs the only one who can match his coverage of the ground

not for mine - gus is playing the defensive wing role brilliantly, and i wouldn't want to change that

Gus was great tonight, he is probably a defensive player though and shouldn't be disrupted from his natural game. The amount of times he stopped their releases from the backline was fantastic. A real finals pressure player. Well done.

Can't replace Langdon though, hopefully Sparrow gets a go, Brisbane have real grunt players and Sparrow is a big boy.

Why make 2 changes when you can just make 1?

A few options here but let's be honest, none of them are good and losing Langdon against a Brisbane side featuring McCluggage is a major loss.

McClug playing a lot of centre square. Harmes to him.

Zac Bailey equally a threat. As are all of Brisbane’s mids, they’re super deep.

Baker’s clearly improved his tank, expect he’ll get a chance.

He will need a rest at some stage anyhow ... happy it's not soft tissue

Yeah, I agree. For such a running machine soft tissue injury can ruin your season. He looked bright enough after the game so hopefully not a bad concussion.

Was starting to think he was becoming dangerously irreplaceable he was playing so well, so it will be good to look at a plan B for the odd occasion he gets stopped. In fact I think they must have put work into stopping his play because he was nowhere near his influential best tonight.

ANB is too important and is also a see ball get ball player, I don’t think he’ll hold a wing or compete well in the air.

It’s either Baker, or go with Sparrow on ball and JJ wing I think. JJ’s doing alright from what I can tell as the 3rd wing.

Makes winning tonight so important and such a bonus - given we’ll be missing such an important player against Brisbane.

The best sides in the business can still win without 3 of their best 22 out.

I think it will be Baker that comes in as he’s the closest thing to a winger. We don’t want to be throwing around the magnets too much.

Hope this game doesn’t end up being in QLD.

Reckon it'll be Jones.

Could do,  but would be a waste of an opportunity to use Sparrow and Baker to find out more about them. I wouldn’t mind holding Jones back to later in the year for another chance. Unless we go a double change with someone else who doesn’t play wing and doesn’t pressure.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
