What for? Being blocked off the ball… stop looking to make yourself look smart.

Head was going side to side like a sideshow clown looking for a ping pong ball

Should've just been watching English and avoided the block

Gawn, Jackson, Weiderman,  Hunt have all been pathetic.

Both Weideman and Jackson are simply giving us nothing up forward. Put in another performance that half and they can spend next week at Casey.

What's Hunts role exactly? Dead set witches hat having 1 disposal in a half of football playing in one of the easiest positions on the ground.

Their only strength remains the freeballing, unpressured kick straight into the forward line, accompanied by semi-hidden throws. We have been stronger all over the ground. They take full advantage of every freed up moment they get.

If Jackson or Weid could actually mark the ball, we win by 8 goals.

It’s a game right now, don’t care about the score the Dogs have shown just how they can score and score quickly this year. I just feel if we’re getting half chances in the middle and winning the ball we’ve got to make them pay. We’ve also gotta force more contests and not have it pinging around like a pinball machine all the time. The key is to frustrate the dogs and tire them. Lock it in the forward line and get to work.

Always take a 19 point lead going into half time against anyone, but against the dogs it’s very good. Couple of lapses gave them an in back into the game.

Disappointing to give those two late goals back. Should be further in front. But they lifted that quarter and we still dominated for most of it.

Big third quarter coming up.

How many marks is Weideman going to drop.

Our inability to kick on from five goal leads is painful.

Fair suck of the Saveriro Rocca mate...

They're the top team... and a bloody good team too...

That deliberate OOB where Harmes decided to basically shepherd the ball out was embarrassing. How can the kicking player be penalised for the the actions of the recipient?

Our players are getting called to play on a lot quicker from marks than the Bulldogs are, Johannisen was allowed to stand 5mtrs off the line from where Melks had to stand the mark and took a good 10secs before kicking. ??‍♂️

Geez the dogs are brilliant at the quick handball , throwing but they really do get away with a few throws. It’s like the umpires are scared to call it due to how good they do handball

Fixed it for you

How good do we have to play to get the plaudits on here?

 Gives me the tom t1ts.

Thought Weideman was a touch quiet that half with the one handball to his name.

To his credit, he nearly got a goal with that handball.

Hunt needs a kick up the motivational cavity.

So does gus.

I think Sam will get dropped at his rate.

5 mark attempts, has crashed packs... 5 could have stuck another night. Takes a forward from TMAC.... a range of things he is doing that doesn't quite count on the stats sheet...

Hes too predictable. Even when it hits the ground he's [censored] useless.

How silly of him trying to organise the defence, he should have just been selfish and focus on one bloke and made sure he didn’t get a block off the ball….. ok chief

We haven’t dropped off. It’s just that they’ve lifted in that second quarter.

This is one of your worst.

You’re upset about us not kicking on from a 5 goal leas against the ladder leaders?

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
