This IS Melbourne. Let this be a warning!

Anyone foresee TMac legitimately holding BBrown and Weideman out of the side before the season started? I wouldn’t change anything next week. This formula is winning. Leave it alone.

I think Melksham doesn’t do enough to keep a 60 goal a year forward out of our side. We didn’t get Ben Brown to play for Casey. We need to make him work and next week is the perfect time.

All that aside, that was an enormous win. A season defining win. To be challenged early and not only grind it out but dominate, was incredible.
Our best players all played well on the big stage. But for me Jackson was a revelation. A 19 year old giant, wet ball, big stage, and he just did not miss a beat. Amazing game.

A great night at the footy and a great night for Jonesy.

So.... have we beaten anyone good yet?

Huge game. We were bullied, and we bullied back. Salem, Trac, Oliver, Max, Langdon,, Lever, TMac, Hunt, fantastic. But so many contributors. ANB some really nice things, big goal.

The best part? The Tigers looked rattled, broken, scared, angry. We did that to them.

Believe.

Spargo says if you touch pickett you have me to deal with.

Great game Charlie

Held them to 3 goals after quarter time. A sensational effort.

You might say Salem has put to bed the comparison between himself and Kelly, long live Salem.

I thought he was the "steak knives" we got with the Tyson deal...!  Not a bad set of steak knives!

As predicted Richmond unleashed a tsunami at the start. We then pulled the plug.

For so long, it was just Viney flying the flag. Now the whole team does. Love it

Hibbo was awesome tonight and did a great job on Dusty.

Dusty wasn’t even in the game

Not trying to sound negative but let’s not get too ahead of ourselves fellas. We’re playing amazing but premierships aren’t won by round 6.

Anyway, go Dees !!!

Enjoy the now, we have had too many terrible nows.

Really liking how ANB, Hunt, Spargo have stepped up

Spargo was better than his stats suggest - halving those two contests in F50 and allowing LJ to goal was excellent

ANB, Hunt are cementing spots

Wow wee, after the siren. So much Red & Blue!!!!

Yeah, but don’t we deserve to revel in the win, even just for tonight?

Good to see that even the defectors are returning.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
