I would love to see one of the Richmond players laid out in the second half. Preferably Lynch

We’ve kick more goals in other quarters against other teams, but that is far and away our best quarter of the year.

- we kept the reigning premiers goalless

- our defence has been outstanding

- we have matched and even bettered their pressure

- Hibberd’s role on Martin has been sensational

- Salem is BOG by a country mile

?hunting in numbers

? defence Tomlinson lever Hunt

? salem

?Gawn 2nd qtr

?McDonald and Anb goals

? hibberd on Martin

?Jackson’s 2nd qtr (?in 1st)

overhandballing  overuse   110 kicks 126 handballs - yes 236 in a half

umpires are shizzzzzzenhausssen

fumbled in 1st qtr

Trac oliver   Viney no influence  lots of possessions but little kicks and handballing

That was some unbelievable footy. Even if we lose from here, I've seen enough to be convinced we are legit.

Jackson is sex.

And 5 years for Salem was about 5 years too short.

Pretty sure he’s done it before

Yes he has.  One of the few to keep him pretty quiet when he did but on that particular night he followed him everywhere starting in the centre.  Tonight he's picking him up when he goes forward with JJ, Clarry and Tracc starting on him in a tag team effort.

Salem excellent but TMac has been superb as well.

Trac has 20 disposals, 9 contested, 5 clearances and 6 scoring involvements.

Salem      23

Trac        19

Oliver      17

Langdon 15

Changed our strategy to doing more handballs.

Giving them no space.

Taking out their best players.

We have a fairly open forward line when we move quickly.

What will the brain trust think of this quarter?

Gee Tige's make tbe opposition earn it when we are around the ball, mostly line ball I would say. C'mon umpire,  protect the man infront or with the ball.

Hunt really isn’t a smart footballer

So Dusty can be tagged after all. Brilliant work Hibbo.

History says He will get off the leash at some stage just hope we are far enough ahead to absorb it.

No. We win from here. Foot Down

Good team play. We are asking the questions of Richmond and they are not finding any answers.

Will be interesting to see how each team resets in the second half....

Im trying to be positive but someone better tell Melksham there are a few knocking on the door.

Tmac has been fantastic....AGAIN.

kozzie to go to a new level.

Richmond's first goalless quarter this season. (and since round 15 last year)

That fact alone is so heartening. This might really be our time.

The boys look [censored] off, hungry and like they've had enough of Richmond. GREAT QUARTER. Two more to go.

Hec i forgot to mention Lever.  Another solid game so far.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
