Weideman kicks goals, Jackson doesn't. but they're not really competing for a spot imo,Ā like i said before i think it'sĀ TMac and BB that are competing for the same role, then it's between TMac and Jackson as the 3rd/back up ruck.Ā both TMac and Brown aren't greatĀ at contested marks and are better suited at lead up roles. i doubt we'll play both of them if all are fit, and i'd expect BB to be more dangerousĀ than TMac. nothing wrong with what TMac is doing this year but i just think Brown will do it better.

So who is the middle tallĀ in your team ??

BBB will play Ymac is still a different player and can get his win ball plus Jacko Ā is versatile and can play anywhere on the forward line.

Bailey Ā is the fourth Player then the variety of smalls.

Weid will have to show he us a better option than Tmac IMO.Ā
Ā

I still wouldn't rule out Petty if injuries petsist.

GWS look shocking right now not putting any pressure on Freo hope they are this bad next week

not sure what you mean by the middle tall. go back and read my posts i think i've made it pretty clear how i think they'll set up. i could be wrong, but that's just my opinion.

They also have one less day to recover than us after travelling back from the west. Tthe temp is 30 at Freo, and they need to travel to Canberra.

Tough draw for them.

NO CHANGE

I can't remember the last time we have gone in No Change, would have to have been in 2018 at some stage.

It's a no brainer really, you don't break up a winning formula, unless an injury comes along.

I keep seeing Langdon’s name pop up, people aren’t seriously putting his name up for the chop are they?

Honestly picturing no change, maybe if Hibberd plays a killer game in the VFL give Rivers a run at Casey but I would be saying keep a settled line up.Ā

Hibberd is an elite half back when fit and needs to come in. Rivers will need to make way. Some of his kicking recently hasn't been great

Good points. We also got saints at a good time as they:Ā returnedĀ from nsw, had 1 less rest day,Ā  played in tiring wet conditions,Ā and have a fewĀ injuries at the minute

Both St Kilda and GWS have paid the price for playing on that super wet ground last week, beware they will not be that bad next week.

I think Clarry must be close to being dropped! I meanĀ failingĀ to get 40 possesions per game in his last two games, must be leaving him vulnerable.LOLĀ ?

I fancied us against Freo and against St Kilda (a very over-rated side imv).

GWS in Canberra worried me but after seeing their woeful effort against Freo I reckon the only way we lose is if we beat ourselves.

It’s another step in our development. Can we front up, switched on ready to perform from the get-go against an opponent that is very beatable. As Dubdee said its time to lose the underdogs mentality and embrace the mantle of favourites. If form lines are reliable (I know we’re only 2 games in) we should dominate and win comfortably. As a Dees supporter, just writing that, I can feel the MFCSS rising…we’re going to stuff it up, we always do…. this team is soft…rah rah

To hell with the MFCSS.

The Dees to kick straight and win by 35 points.

Probably no change, but could be tempted to take Gus out for Melksham potentially.

Interesting post. Jake seems to have lost a lot of form over the last 2 years.

But since Tmac has turned things around and 2 key fwds injured and inaccuracy issues, this could work.

Hibberd if fit inĀ for Hunt. Although Hunt was better this week.

Otherwise back to the mantra, if it aint broke...

And it aint broke.

Can someone please clarify where we play the gws?

I thought it was at Canberra but when I google the afl states spotless in Sydney.

I want to see Kozzie play live. Was it rescheduled?

Tx.

He’s only going at half pace, should be getting 50+ per week! ?

Not too worried about the disposals. I’m surprised Jones had 3 tackles because it looked like he missed at least 5. And his goal was both a solid piece of smart running and a concern that the world was going to end before he got down to that ball.Ā

Jones was solid on Saturday and if he maintains that form he’ll be playing in a Premiership at years end

A few people suggesting LJ would be one to make way for Weid/BB in a month or so..

I thought his ruck work was really good on Saturday, some of the best I've seen it. If he can do a job there and give Max the ability to go behind the ball or in to the goal square it makes us such a better team. Can't rely on Weid/BB to do that.

Realistically 1 or even 2 of Weid/BB/TMac will be in the twos.

Jetta looked to struggle at times tonight, always gives 100% but just can’t keep up anymore, maybe Hibberd for Jetta. Concerned for Bradshaw but unless weĀ want to try Vanders or MelkshamĀ in that role I don’t see many other optionsĀ

Not me. Gus is a shadow of the player he was. Slow, poor disposal, hardly gets the ball.

When he does get the ball he still mostlyĀ kicks it up in the air in the general direction that we are headed.

That much hasn't changedĀ  and if he comes good then there will just be a lot more if that.

Surely Jones is an automaticĀ  " in " (given theyre 2 zip )Ā forĀ the next four or so games ; as he should be .

He's still best 22 while Vanders, the only one who can miss a pass more often than Chunk, is best 30

Jeepers, good problems to have.

Ed Langdon, what a legend.

After sticking a tenner on the Dees pre game and a tenner this week on the Crows at 2.25 (at Ade v Syd), I am thinking what might be a sneaky smokey for the Dees as they're too short for a W/L. +39.5?

You'd think Jonesy will make 300 - picked for GWS for sure (?) andĀ  just five more.

No change.

Peak MFCSS this week.Ā  2-0, playing some good footy, going in as the bookies favourites against an under-performing team, getting a bit of media attention.Ā  Sound familiar?

Hoping it is a more mature, hungry group this season.

Ā

The only thing stopping us beating GWS is ourselves.

Two good wins (albeit vs wounded prey) and a game vs GWS, another wounded team.Ā  While we've had injuries they are far less significant.

It is the type of game where our players get ahead of themselves and become cocky thinking a win will just happen.Ā  We need to turn up and play 120 minutes of committed football.Ā  No 'drinking of bathwater', please.

It will be a test of what is going on between the ears.Ā

I been taking Oliver for most possessions....he just works so hard and has gone up a level or 2 this year....multi with Melb to win, relax and enjoy us slaughtering GWS.Ā  I can't see them recovering after their last performance, a days less rest etc.Ā  They will come out angry for a quarter and fall to pieces again.

Agree Tmac is very valuable in his form and is so accurate!

BBB would get in Weid May struggle depending on form.

Plenty of upside with team over a whole season.

Langers is a gem and a great recruit to bootĀ

My Hope is Rosman can develop enough Ā to be our other winger ( played his best in VFL practice yesterday with 3 goals).

How'd the other recruits go in the VFL?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
