I wonder how much of Treloar's salary they had to agree to pay to get such a good deal from the Dogs?

The whole thing smacks of salary cap planning disaster.  Maybe they assumed Pendlebury would have retired by now?

Well, now they need to him stick around a couple more years.

The Grundy contract is going to be a massive problem for them

I wonder if this will affect Lumumba's lawsuit?

Con; Evidence that being [censored] to everyone is just the Collingwood way rather than being specifically racially motivated.

Yep, some interesting rumours...if true then the Tiges boys should get a refund.

...but they (C/Wood) handled the outcome poorly in how they let him go.

Also their coach made a mockery of the hub...not exactly setting a good example.

...but the big one is the contempt they have shown their supporter group.

I guess the arrogance must come from the top, I can't quite think who it might be?????

The problem is with the members. They're the ones who keep the Board and the Chairman in place. If the members are disatisfied they have all the power to force change.

Hard to believe that Buckley is playing the sympathy card:  My toughest day in footy....bar none.

Meanwhile some of his best kids have just had their hearts broken after he pushed them out of the club.   Always two sides to a story but hey he is supposed to be the grown up.

It’s how they did so that is so baffling, just crazy to treat them like that, then Buckley lying about the Treloar meeting, far out!!

Sorry Sam Edmunds for thinking Buckley response to you would have had more honesty than your story.

I was listening to SEN when Edmunds made the statement on air. He was absolutely rock solid, saying he had cross checked all his sources again and again.
That’s when I knew the Filth were in serious trouble.
I cannot believe that Today, Buckley has not said “We had to cut players for Salary cap reasons, i apologize on behalf of the Filth, to Players and Members”

At least be honest. Their Behavior today is disgusting, they are almost blaming the players. F$&@ that

Your List Management stinks...

Compare this to the way that MFC do business these days and we can be incredibly proud that, in these days of Trumpism and bad character, we treat people in the right way and are good to do business with. It counts for an awful lot, in the end, to look after your people properly.

I don't believe it is Buckley's problem. Other people would have been telling him we are sweet with salary cap then he gets told $2 million has to go! Add I reckon everyone in the pies camp was told no comment anyone including players concerned or you lose your job. I don't think he created the problem. Those that did have the explaining to do.

Buckley is the one making Statements

He would be well aware of the situation from a long way back...

Players cost money and if you put them on a contract that is signed, that contract should be honoured

There was no way they could ever pay all those contracts, and to then lie about it is disgusting ?

Watched him being interviewed on Fox...he looked like a dead man walking.

Tipping he's next out the door at C/wood.

Was hung out to dry.

Will be scapegoated to protect the bigger egos.

Exactly RJay.

Their Board would have signed off on all the big contarcts - Treloer, Grundy etc.

But Buckley's laying the blame on the senior players re: Treloar and  '.. Im just passing on the feedback..."  type comments, along with ignoring Stephenson is a disgrace and will be an ongoing blight on his reputation. Leader? - you're joking.

Stephenson was likely troubled in his gambling year big time, media pile on etc, and then a maojr illness pre-season. What did they think was going to happen to the kid. He's only 21 for gawds sake.

Message: Don't own up to mental illness or fraility at the Pies - your on your own.

D17 I don't think it has anything do with all that. IMO they needed to shed $2+ million and looked at where best that could be achieved. Treloar was the big one and when his wife moved north that thought great he will follow her, here is our big chance and it blew up in their faces when he said no quite happy here. The others were just easy pickings. It was only after the event that they started making up excuses.

That contract is already biting them and will continue to do so for many years to come. No player is worth a 7 year contract, let alone a ruckman. He'll be getting paid $1,000,000 still at 34 years old! Probably the biggest list management [censored]-up of all time.

Cheers to the Pies destroying themselves!

What are you on about.  This is very different, we won’t be pushing them out

No, but we're celebrating another team losing 3 best 22 players when we could lose 2 best 22 players and the two best Melbourne players in my 33 years of following the club.

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
