still kicked more goals that T Mac over the last 5 years

Far more. In fact TMacs best year rates 4th between the pair. We all long for TMac to return to his 2018 form, but even that was a level below what Brown produced for years. If you rate their seasons when they played as forwards:
1. Brown 2019 - 64 goals
2. Brown 2017 - 63 goals
3. Brown 2018 - 61 goals
4. Tmac 2018 - 53 goals
5. Brown 2016 - 41 goals
6. Brown 2015 - 32 goals
7. TMac 2017 - 23 goals
8. TIE Brown 2014 - 18 goals & TMac 2019 - 18 goals
Neither played enough in 2020 to bother commenting due to injury.

Brown for a second round pick would be one of the biggest trading coups in recent memory. If he gets to even half his best, he'll win our goal kicking and help our forward structure immensely. Get it done Dees!

brown has literally had one injury in his professional afl career and people are really calling him damaged goods. he will be the greatest steal in our clubs history if we can get him for another after pick 25. will kick 40+ comfortably next year

It took ninety-one hours after the last deal was done for the trade period to emerge from hibernation for the first of the day’s trade deals to be announced and shock horror, Dodoro was involved. The player traded was 2 metre Peter who once was a #8 draft pick for the Suns who didn’t play a game in 2020 and was duly dispatched to the Bombers for a future fourth rounder. Then followed three deals that involved the trade stars of the day - the Melbourne Football Club. Take a bow, Josh Mahoney, even if the Roos are holding up the big trade for Ben Brown. The final deal was a three way deal that involved a fellow Demon.

The day ended with most of the big deals still to be done and we wait on tomorrow or Thursday to learn the fate of likes of Treloar, Cameron, Dunkley, Saad and, of course, Brown.

The big news is that Adam Treloar has spoken with the Bulldogs and had a medical there (late news suggesting the medical wasn’t great) while his Collingwood teammate Jaidyn Stephenson is in talks with North Melbourne about his future. GWS and Geelong are still haggling over the number of first round picks required to get him to Corio Bay. And Dodoro still has many balls hanging in the air.

Today’s deals ~

• Peter Wright to Essendon for a future fourth-round pick to the Suns
• The Crows traded their No.33 selection and 50 to the Demons this year for Melbourne's future second-round and future fourth-round selection
• Melbourne has traded Mitch Hannan to the Western Bulldogs for its future third round draft pick.
• Melbourne has traded Braydon Preuss to GWS Giants for pick 31
• In a 3 way deal, Stefan Martin was traded to the Western Bulldogs and Lachie Young ended up at North Melbourne. Brisbane traded Pick 70 to North Melbourne, which gave Pick 63 to the Lions.

And the beat goes on ...

Listening to Hannan on Trade Radio this morn, sounds like he left for opportunity,  melb obviously told him he isnt locked into our best side.

Kept saying things like, I believe my best footy is in front of me, I think I can get up the ground and play tall and small, also said he has the opportunity to play on the wing which he thinks he will be good at.

Obviously We told him he is no wingman.

Will always have that goal, good luck Mitch

Heard him on the radio yesterday - they were talking him up for bulldogs fans - i.e. a pressure forward who has pace, skills, x-factor who can take a grab and kick a goal - I was thinking when you put it like that, why are we letting him go!

Always liked Hannan but not against the trade - clearly our forwardline and midfield need a shakeup!

Pick #30 might go to North for Higgins (rejected #38).  While that deal is not directly connected to the Brown deal it may help it get done.

They've paid overs on this...

Anyway, I don't know why they held out when they could have done this day one.

Dumb all round.

They just got a really nice deal for Fogarty. They took Saad pretty much until the situation was looking like breaking down, Essendon did toss in pick 48 but otherwise never flinched and they caved. But they can probably justify it with the Fogarty deal.

If Melbourne really have nothing else left to do that impacts the Brown deal we should wait until the deadline.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
