Love Trac feel sorry for him

I’ll be surprised if he hangs around. I reckon we have one more season to give him a reason to.

I think Goody is the new Voss - maybe a reasonable assistant coach. Maybe. The list to die for has gone backwards and soon our better players will start to look elsewhere. Time for Goody to walk.

I've resisted as long as I could, but this is the first time I'll say it.

Goodwin has to go. There is literally no excuses this year. You just failed as a senior coach. Time to move on.

I cant see how Goodwin survives, how many members would want him to stay now?

I'm not renewing if he is still coaching next year.

We can now add the Dockers to the list of teams that have overtaken us.

And Hogan was there for it!

Ugh.

I hate to criticise first year players, especially those that are clearly great kids and crack in like Kosi. But if you’re incapable of kicking those goals, you won’t have a very long career. Hope he can iron out that very clear deficiency in the summer.

10 minutes of effort when the game was done. Bring that intensity and direct wet weather footy required for the whole game and we have a comfortable win. We are just not up to it. from the coaches box down Dumb football brains

Outhustled by 14th and 15th on the ladder. Looked to have the requisite intensity for the last 5 minutes. Bizarre.

Forget Goodwin...those blokes got beat by a group who wanted it more than them.

About what we deserve, we're a mid-table side at best. The drop away in quality after our best dozen or so is like falling off a cliff. OK, a couple of youngies there who we can build with for the future (Rivers, Kickett, Jackson), but losing (e.g.) Jetta up one end and Tom Mac down the other is a bridge too far, leaving us with some real holes in the list. They could just about cull 20 of them and we'd hardly even notice.

Not to mention the lack of on field leadership. No accident that we did well in 2018 when Jordan Lewis was still playing for us. Not sure how that's going to be addressed in the short term.

How the hell are we supposed to afford to pay him out 2 years of remaining contract in these covid impacted times? We're stuck with him I'd say for at least 2021.

Agreed. It's a problem of our own making - the AFL aren't going to pitch in for the payout. But the membership and possibly sponsorship fallout might make for bigger losses. We're [censored] either way.

The club is bigger than the individual.

Do the right thing at seasons end Simon and step down. You have failed us miserably.

Ha easy money

Yes, our game plan doesn’t stack up and yes we only have a handful of decent players.

But we we were pretty unlucky to play in those horrid conditions two weeks in a row.

Our opposition played in the same conditions...

We have 4-5 elite players but lacking in 6-16 bracket and no visible game plan of any sort. Even in the wet I could see what Freo were trying to do but buggered if I could work us out. Starting Fritsch behind the ball in the first showed a lack of confidence in a team defence and robbed us of balancing our chance to score against a miserly side.

We are not finals worthy and will finish accordingly.

I’ll post some photos.

Honestly can't tell if you're trolling with these comments but they're poorly timed right now considering your target audience.

Whoever is in charge of this [censored] club, stand up and make some bloody changes.

Red flag should have been raised the moment Josh Mahoney was given the role of doing internal reviews.

Our playing list is ridiculously overrated. Oliver, Viney do nothing but run around like headless chooks and crash into each other.

Rivers, Langdon, Vandenberg the only ones who just wanted it more tonight.

Bit harsh on Viney at least on tonights effort, only one that provided any sort of good clearance work. I agree that he can sometimes be too much of a bull for his own good and for that of the midfield balance but there are other fingers to be pointed tonight, just not at him.

agree on rivers, langdon and vanders.

Good on u Gary Lyon named names spot on

That was just so poor. Same as wans game. Weak half hearted tackles...no run and spread...hospital handballing...too many passengers.

Freo with nothing to gain showed us how you play the game.

This club. Just wow.

Wear it with pride boys. You get what you deserve in this game.

Yeah, not all of them though. Trac, Viney, Oliver were fantastic.

These are my thoughts too. I’ve been a member for 25 years, joined my wife and family up and pay extra for GF guarantee. I live in Perth so get to see them live once per year. I’m done

Didn't think I could feel worse than last week.

Then we serve up that slop.

I've been putting it off for a while now, but that has to be the end of Goodwin's senior coaching career.  If it doesn't happen right now, then it happens at the end of the season.  I know there are financial implications involved, but I was embarrassed tonight.  We stunk it up again from the moment we got going and we never looked in it.  We hung around like last night's pizza for most of the night, but I didn't feel as though were ever going to win it.

Our forward line is a mess.  Weid is constantly battling two or three.  I can't understand why the [censored] we picked Preuss, in these conditions, to play as a forward all night.  Outside of one tackle he did nothing.  Our small forwards were Bedford and Pickett, two kids who are still raw and learning the game, and ANB, who does ANB things and really shouldn't be playing football.  Fritsch, while he can be soft, gets a pass mark from me as at least he gets to the right spots and does things with ball in hand.

Our midfield was running on empty and we lacked rotations in there.  I have to commend Trac, Oliver and Viney as they never stopped trying, but they were outmatched.

And lets not forget that we had too many passengers - Smith, Pickett, Bedford, Baker, Hunt (okay, he did two good things, but that was it), Hibberd.  There are probably more, but we need everyone contributing to win games of footy and it just doesn't happen.

Positives - I really like Trent Rivers.  Great drafting there.  Mids did okay.  Langdon has a dip.  Tomlinson did really well in defence.  That's really about it.

Hurting big time tonight.  Hopefully the club has the courage to make some big decisions in the coming months.

Another e-hug to all of you out there.

Why is Lever not in your passengers list? Was as bad as anyone and weak efforts cost us at least 2 goals.

Will pale in comparison to money lost through memberships if he stays on @leucopogon.

I gave 500 to the proud to give campaign. I’d give another [censored] grand if it meant paying this fool out.

I think we can draw a line through more than the coach after watching that. Too early to name players, but the blokes who came in had an opportunity. There is a future for Rivers, some of the regulars (Petracca, Gawn, Oliver, Fritsch, VDB, Viney (until hit), Hibberd) were up to AFL standard, but after that I'm scratching what hair I have left.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
