And, its meaning will always be a sad joke among MFC supporters.

Yes, believe it or not a Richmond supporting friend asked me on the phone on the weekend how the Learnings were going!

So when ( not if ) we lose tonight, what statement do we make at the selection table for our next game???‍♂️

Predicted “learnings” that will need to be learnt following today’s game:

- if we kick straight, we can win, even if we are playing poorly - think the Saints game, and what could have been if we’d kicked straight against the Swans.

- we need to be switched on for the first bounce, not just after halftime- and we need to remain switched on for 4 quarters.

- we have no idea what our “brand” of football looks like, let alone how to play it yet.

- we need to make up our minds, before this season ends, as to whether we want 2 key forwards or one key forward; one ruckman or two - we cannot keep chopping and changing as this might affect how we play the game - see the learning above.

- football IQ might be a good criteria to look at when selecting recruits;

- a club psychologist might be a good investment for next year

- Hogan is still an AFL force - after he kicks 5 against us.

- I’ll have a huge bag of learnings that I can draw upon at my next coaching job.

I think we do:

That is all

one thing about being a dees support is people feel sorry for you.Usual conversation "so who do barrack for"Dees " Oh sorry"followed by a snigger of pity

i usually get guffaws of laughter.

I would like to hear the BENNY HILL theme song being belted out as we come out of the race tonight as it suits us to a tea.

So inconsistent and have been for the past 14 years, its pathetic.

Only the last 14 years DOX??

One positive is the conditions. Showers and wind up to 35kms are expected.

With our skills and strong kicking techniques we have an advantage in those conditions.

And with our strong focus on learnings the team that played in similar, albeit better conditions just four days ago, will adapt. Good that they didn't make many changes.

I'm being generous SWYL.

Thought this would be the best place for advice and after reading I’ve decided not to call in sick at work tonight. Best I save some sick leave in case of a Wednesday night elimination final.

These short turnarounds aren’t great for us supporters, we usually need a few more days to get over a sh*tshow like last Thursday.

no more i cant take it

The match tonight will go one of the 2 following ways:

1. We will fall over the line in a close, ugly and uninspiring match. The players will act as if they've just won the flag and the club will tell us how we're building momentum. The supporters will roll their eyes, and go to bed with an empty and soulless feeling.

2. We will lose in a close, ugly and uninspiring match. The players will seem disappointed but ensure that we've improved in certain areas and reiterate that if we didn't have a mental lapse for those 15 minutes we would have won. Goodwin will tell us that while he's disappointed we didn't win, we're not far off. The supporters want to be angry but can't be f'd, the call for Goody's head intensifies.

Better in the essendon game. One theme for 2 clubs.

The dogs will win their last two games as unlike us they can be trusted to to so. That means that that if we lose tonight we are out of finals contention.

So tonight is an elimination final.

And if we win this game the GWS game will also bean elimination final.

And if we happen to win the next two the Bombers game will bean elimination final .

And if we win that game we will be playing in an elimination final.

Possibly against West Coast. In Perth.

So your saying

By losing tonight

The club is just saving the faithful a lot of heart ache.

If we are going to stay "on brand" @binman, my prediction is that we'll...

Beat Freo

Beat GWS

Lose to the bombers and miss out on finals by percentage.

Keep Goodwin

We will know if we are going to win or lose in the first 5 mins i reckon.....

instead of bombing the ball inside the f50 without thought, tonight we will attempt to sprint the ball inside the f50 without thought.

I had a play on the ladder predictor before and i predict gloom.

With one small change, I have zero doubt that is exactly what will happen.

The change is that the bombers will have no chance of playing finals and will have left almost all of their decent players out of the team for post season surgery or just to avoid one getting injured.

And like when we were beaten by their VFL team when they were danked their current VFL team will roll us. Just coz.

They should just rip the ban aid off Marty and let me get on with enjoying the Spring Carnival.

Fremantle's last 5 games scores- 29, 53, 50, 36 and 48. Have only gone above 60 twice this year. Having said that they have the 3rd least points against. Seems they rely on a defensive game plan. So if we can get some forward connection I think we will win.

Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
