Luke has been coaching 6 years, delivered The Bulldogs with their 2nd flag in its history.  The team plays for him, and competes against the top teams at a level any supporter would be satisfied with.

When can we get this trade done?

It's funny how the non MFC games thread still ends up as a festival of potting MFC. No mention of the goal review last night either.

If you all love the Dogs so much, [censored] off and support them.

^^ This. They were very lucky IMO.

Only just saw the vision. The AFL and 7/fox are inept. No goal line vision in Alice and now frames per second that make a difference......followed by a reverse angle where the ball didnt cross the other goal post.

Your theory on a final 8 decided in the last h&a round is looking good.

Dogs have been super flaky. Not sure Beveridge is the coach to bring any consistency

The title of this thread is misleading.  I was expecting some substance to it at least....this type of venting could/should be posted anywhere on Demonland....Does it really require it's own thread lol?!

Has there been a response from anyone in the media or AFL? I couldn't believe how quickly the commentators dismissed the vision when it came back after the decision.

Even my 2 young kids were adamant it hadn't crossed the line.

Nothing yet, but you can guarantee they will back the ARC and umpires in.

Almost certain, as they are talking about what Round 18 matches to put in premium timeslots. We win tonight and there is 5 teams playing for 3 spots - interest is maintained through to the end. Gil wants every game in Round 18 to have finals implications.

Re 'that' goal, this from the Fox afl site:

This is where the system is limited; from one angle, the ball was just past the goalpost. From the other side, it was not. The nature of the cameras in this situation, and the way lenses can warp the position of the ball, mean it’s impossible to tell which angle was right.

If that is the case, they should junk the system until they get it right. As I've argued elsewhere, leave it to the umpire. Umps make mistakes all the time which affect the result of a close game, why are goal umpires' decisions treated differently?  And as we know all too well, the delay of a decision on a mark on the line vs a point can rob a team of it's momentum to get the ball to the scoring end and win a close match.

Yeah no 'feel good' factor for the dogs winning last night. That was a terrible result.

11, 8, 12, 7 wins in 4 seasons after winning the flag.

where do I sign?  if they didnt throw their way to that flag he'd be sacked by now

Adelaide have made a good start vs Giants.

Will they keep it going and help salvage our season!

i'm going to presume not

it just goes to show how ordinary all the teams below about 5th on the ladder actually are at the moment

FMD, if GWS go down to Adelaide a day after we terminated our season with extreme prejudice... talk about salt in wounds. Hope... dashed ... hope ... dashed ... <repeat ad infinitum>

Don't worry, the eventual premier will be a team we beat in home and away, leaving us to ponder what might have been ....

A team on the cusp of making the finals  should be flogging a lowly side, I mean it couldn’t be too hard?

perhaps the coach has lost the players?

perhaps the game plan is awful?

perhaps he speaks too corporate?

theyve resigned him when they shouldn’t have.

the only question I have to ask is...

Is Cameron the right guy?

Well obviously? They've just signed him to a new 2 year deal...?

Does not apply to other teams, only us. ?

Interesting game That's unfolding between Giants and crows. Crows currently 16 points up in the last quarter.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
