2. Melksham - 8 inside 50s (1st), 407 metres gained (2nd), 2 goals, 6 score involvements. That’s a fair return.

Spargo had a great 10 minutes.  But aside from that we hardly noticed him. 6 kicks. 2 tackles.  He burst the game open so I can see why the love !

Preuss really stepped up tonight. 24 hit outs. 12 possessions.  He struggled at times physically and the trainer spoke to him a few times. He soldiered on and kept competing. He was physical and was a target.  Had some good 2nd efforts.  Actually got better and better.

May was good with excellent disposal but fumbled a few and dropped 3-4 marks when the ball got slippery.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
