4 on 3: pack mark. Every Port player has zero MFC players in the hole. It’s like they’re afraid to go anywhere near the contest!!!

Brayshaw is playing on a wing on Karl Amon.

Amon 12 disposals, Brayshaw 3....

While we bring in Tom Sparrow to play in the center, Goodwin can get stuffed

This is bullshyt

So at the opening bounce Viney is held off the ball to the point of being dragged to the ground.  Without a call, Sparrow comes in to try to get the ball Viney would have, is tackled and wrapped up and it's HTB to Port.  WTF are these Umpires doing?

We look disinterested honestly.

Game over, season over. Looks like a 10 goal defeat at this point.

Lever's exit was shocking. First, a sloppy kick, then another kick that goes straight to the advantage of a Port back.

This is an absolute mess. this cannot be tolerated from a team with basically full fitness, and good form, against a side that's been out of form.

Defensively we aren't working even half as hard as we need to, we can't stick a tackle to save ourselves and we can't hit a target.

all of our good players have gone missing besides Max.

I’ll have what he’s having.

Again we hit up a defender going forward.

I cannot understand how Lever can do that.

That's not gameplan, that's just stupid football.  We were clearly leading on the flank and he kicked it in the opposite direction of where they were leading to.  So they had to stop, turn and not have enough time to make a contest.

It's rubbish stuff from our players.  We can blame Goodwin all we like but that's all on the players there.

Why is Sparrow handballing that to Viney anyway, stupid play.

Tom McDonald not getting to the contests, seriously he is giving nothing right now.

Trade him for peanuts come years end.

Intensity meter just hit zero!

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
