I had not seen this and don't mind admitting that I may be wrong. However it is contrary from the internals I heard around the the club at the time. I do believe that Hogan was happy to see out his contract and as a professional see what his options were. I don't read the H-S because I don't think it is a reliable news source, and there is an element of placating press release about it. It does not sound like other interviews I have heard from Hogan. I did hear that he was unhappy about the trade and was making the best of it. The point is we lost an important player and got nothing to replace him with.

No, their slow ball movement was primarily a tactic to ensure the game was not played fast as clearly with our selections and their lack of leg speed a fast game would have been to our advantage.

They had 60 more non contested marks than us. That has to be close to some sort of record. And 54 more uncontested possessions. The game was played on their terms and in a way that negated our relative strengths

As you point out they only scored 7 goals. I thought the defence played pretty well but i wouldn't be too quick to pump up their tyres as the Cat's game style also meant they only had 38 inside 50s (we had 46). And with 12 scoring shots they scored with close to every third entry and with 9 marks marked it every four times they came inside 50.

I think we will win. Not because we are good but because Richmond are worse.  This is the Richmond of 2016 not the Richmond of 2017-2019.

Some key people who helped turn the ship around in 2017 are gone: 

• Rutten defensive coach left end 2018
• Rance left end 2018
• Caracella who was credited with ball movement strategy left end 2019
• Gale and more importantly Balme is not in their authorised 'bubble', so no face to face contact

And captain and co-captain seem more distracted by the idea of an interstate hub than galvanising their team to deal with whatever happens.  Perhaps they are so used to the comforts of home both domestic and playing 16-17 games a year on the MCG not having those has them nervous.

So Hardwick is more or less the lone ranger in terms of leadership but he struggled before Balme arrived. 

They may rally tomorrow because they think we will be easy beats.  But I think they are the easy beats right now.  If we can't beat the Richmond of 2016 then I'll be very concerned

Interesting breakdown of their departures and a highlight of a talented bunch of support staff. Balme is a crutial  part of their operation as well.  lets not forget to, "beware of an injured tiger'. What you highlight is as far as tomorrow goes it is

The Tigers are much better keepings off outfit vs the Cats, especially when gifted the defensive half of the ground like we did last week and Rnd 6 vs the Tigers in 2019.  Uncle will  be pleased.  We are in for a mild lashing me thinks (expecting roughly 4 goals or more)

So people really think the players focus will be on the game or thinking about the next 32 days away from home and packing to adhere to AFL trying to rush them off.

What a farce of a season this is really turning into.

On a more serious note my heart goes out to those people in heavy lockdown. They are among the most socially disadvantaged people in our community. It will be  a frightening experience on so many levels

Most people know his history of injuries, we are told that it looks like his leg is right.  So why not play him? 

In his first game he made a reasonsble contribution.  If we had him in against Geelong he might have been the difference.

We need our best players on the park,  and if everyone is fit and available, I reckon we would have him in the best 22.  Everytime!

I think they are gradually easing Harley into our top 22. Match fitness will improve with another one or two in the reserves and we can have his skills for a longer period of time than his first game with us. But it was confusing that he was selected for the postponed Essendon game and then not selected for the following week. Management they would probably call it. 

Goodwin explained that players like Kosi...Vanders & Hannan weren’t available & now they are he has to work harder to get a game. He isn’t the great white hope & after all the heartbreak he has had with his calves ...I’m happy to go with the fitness team & play him when he’s ready ...

Uninjured does not mean not ready.

Condition might be uninjured;  but also can be he doesn't have the fitness,  endurance,  and also the disciplines.

He didn't set the game on alight.
