Brayshaw is doing his job. I saw him get a few key takeaways from centre bounces and he plays a bit more on the wing than others.

We don't need everyone racking up huge possessions, though it seems some Demonlanders would like 22 players with 30 touches each....

I'd prefer if he laid a tackle. 0 tackles is pretty poor for a midfielder.

From a prolific ball winner to a meat and potatoes player.

That’s not ‘developing’.

We need midfield depth. Trade Brayshaw and next year the depth is Jones, Sparrow or Jordon.

Sparrow & Jordan look likely to break into the team soon anyway both are developing nicely and both bring something a little different to our mids

Jordan will get a game soon.  Gives us some things we are missing.

Sparrow I fear wont play any time soon... hes an inside mid and theres simply no room for him.  I like his game though, and his time will come eventually.

100% with jordan

I still like the look of sparrow, good size, clean hands, hard nut mentality, reads the ball exceptionally well and foot skills arent terrible

What does Jordan offer @DurriePirate, comparatively to others?

Another poor game today. 9 disposals, 2 tackles. Only 65% game time. Perhaps there’s concussion or management issues? He looks unsettled, unhappy, unsure of his role and lacking confidence in everything he does.

An absolute liability and is being carried. Cant explain his performance or hs attitude. Both stink. Must be traded at the end of the year, clubs will want him and we will get something of value.

Really disappointing player. 9 Disposals 2 tackles and 70 m gained.. thats not good enough.  The heat goes on Oliver and teh kid tries his guts out every week and generally plays really well. When will teh heat come for this bloke?

Unfortunately Oliver, Petracca and Viney crowd out any other midfielders because they are possession beasts. Angus has obviously been required to take another role . Being an outside mid tonight for us , you were on a hiding to nothing, because their midfield clearances negated his opportunities. MAybe a little more flexibility from our ruckman (who is terrific ) would enable us to go over their midfielders heads and bring the outside mids into play more.

At one stage tonight the commentators remarked how difficult the role of wingman is in modern football . ( at the time he was referring to Robinson and Langford( who both came into the game later on)   If the ball is going through the other side of the ground the Wingmansrole is to cut off the switch (even by just being in position. No stats there though !! SO maybe Gus is playing a low possession role for the benefit of the team.

Wasnt great but certainly not our worst. He does need to play midfield or it’s bust.

What do you reckon cards13

Taking a dispassionate view, he is not contributing enough when we lose, or have close finishes - plays well when we win - we need a better all round contributor in his place on the ground so need to trade him while he has value for someone that can deliver a more consistent return

Excuses.

He was by far our worst player tonight.

That about sums it up for me LT.  He looked as if he was in about 2nd gear most of the night and was sooking it up coming off the ground.  His attitude is the pits and not a great look for those around him, particularly the rookies.  Time to look elsewhere while he still has a modicum of value.

Something has to change because what is currently happening doesn't work for anyone.

It needs to be a change to his role on-field, attitude or both, but there needs to be a change.

Send him to Freo. He and Hogan can reunite and carry on with their off field shananigans like they were doing in Melbourne.

it’s funny ... there’s always a pattern

You reckon he's this years Hogan or Watts mate?

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
