No wonder the AFL don't ever send Hawthorn down there to play. They are an absolute embarrassment.

I actually want this to be revisited after 2020, they can share it around but at least one of the "big clubs" should be going down there every year. And the cats should be forced to increase allocation to opposition fans/members by 3000-4000, perhaps make it their trade off as they seem keen on having more games there.

I wouldn't be against them hosting finals against Vic sides either but there should be a minimum allocation of 8000-10000 seats to away fans if it's a Victorian team.

Despite the margin tonight's game was far better than last night's.

If I had to pick a best quarter of the 8, I'd still take the rich v Coll last quarter for the contest.

Not that I watched much of last night but it was refreshing to not hear Cameron Ling on the commentary team for a Geelong game.

I do feel a little for channel 7 - most of the best media guys choose Foxtel

I didn't like it 'John', the only interest was getting the draw because neither side deserved 4 points.

To be honest they didn't deserve 2 points.

It was a yawn fest of defensive football with poor skills to match.

You would have thought they were playing in a bog the way the last Q panned out.

Every player in the same part of the ground and no one to kick to when they got the ball.

Did I hear Jimmy Bartel in the commentary say that he met Rhys Stanley and his wife at the Moriac store this week, before their baby was born?.......covid lockdown rules?

Instead we had to put up with Jobs4mates Watson that reads player stats and has nothing much tactically to add. The guy does zero footy media anywhere, but lands special comments on Friday footy? Laughable.

There are "approved" locations they are allowed to be. No doubt that was swiftly added... ?

it's arguably a breach... they are allowed out for shopping not to have  a chat at the supermarket. A nod in passing sure but not a chat.

On the other hand when half the world is at the beach or Bunnings is it any wonder.

The complete reversal of form by both teams from Round 1 was interesting.

Patton looks like a player from a bygone era. Hope he shows his best but the modern game doesn't suit him.

So far Geelong look the goods.

Hawthorn look crap.

Richmond haven't hit their straps yet.

The pies continue to wobble.

i dunno...

cats got destroyed by gw$ in rd 1, poos&wees mangled the bears, richmond haven't lost a match for 12 calendar months, and the filth have lost to one 2019 grand finalist by 4 points and drew with the other in 2 out of their 3 most recent games

i don't think you can read anything into this season yet...give it til about round 10 - if we get that far - and then we'll know where every team sits

Wow just saw the scores. Adelaide are in a world of pain. That's just dominance by port and Im happy to see higher scores. Put that rubbish game on thursday night aside.

GC up by 26 against west coast at 1/2 time. at this point not sure WC like this hub business.

GC are up by 26 at 3 QTR time.... They are well and truly under the skin of WC. Rowell is an absolute beast.

Loving seeing the Eagles flogs throw their heads around for free kicks and nothing coming

Sickening that GC got a before r1 priority pick last year and a mid 1st this year. We are a far worse team.

Surely they won't actually get it, if they keep this up. Still have Rankine sitting in the wings.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
