Caulfield should have been signed and sealed by now imho if it were happening.

I understand your frustration but to kick it off do you have a spare $570 mill lying around?  The redvelopment of the race course is a massive project involving The racecourse Trust, MRC, Glen Eira Council, State Govt (and probs the Feds), Environment Groups (save the snakes) Heritage Groups (save the horse pool) probs my mate Angus (wheres the bar) - more stakeholders than the botanical gardens.  And the MFC will have to buy in big time to get any favored treatement.

Dont hold your breath.

And it doesn't mean there aren't already documents signed which don't activate until all parties are on board. I could imagine that there may be a heads of agreement already in place between the club and the course owner (State government? Melbourne Racing Club?) but it can't be converted into a contract until all other necessary arrangements are in place. Those documents may well include confidentiality agreements meaning the club can't discuss the situation right now.

On this matter,I think we should change our nickname- Demons and call ourselves the Gunners.( or Gonners). It seems the media ( at least currently) are gunning for us, especially the Board , and the Board are going to do, but have done nothing ( the Gonners).

Just to add to the discussion, for some years the geographic centre of Melbourne has been moving north and west, a trend that's set to continue.

Then maybe somewhere like Flemington race track or parklands near the Zoo, maybe worthwhile for the board to evaluate….there also Melbourne University grounds that also could be perused.

There is an article in today's hun about the Hawks move to Dingley. It doesn't seem to worry the Hawks that they will be a long way from their namesake. The previous demand that our locations needed to be near the G may well have lost us a number of locations. We will never know of course.

Where did you get $570m from.

Our development would not cost anything like that.

If it did, it’d be some facility!

Might be controversial but we won't win another flag until we have a dedicated club house and ground.

Having looked at the plans and artists impressions the redevelopment of the racecourse includes residential housing, shops, cafes, sporting facilities, playing grounds, bbq etc.  Thats where the $570 mill comes from and I was suggesting if someone put that money up the project as a whole the project would kick off.  I cannot see the MFC facilities going ahead in isolation or standalone or if thy did it would be eg Stage 1.

There are many stakeholders all anxious to kick in as little as possible.

Caulfield is the only option which is currently subject to a funded feasability study.

Exclusive from Mr Pert tonight that I told you all on on November 25.

😂

Thank you guys for the info on Caulfield. I don't see us holding our first training session there anytime this decade. It's a long way off ladies and gentlemen.

I’m a total nuff on this kind of thing. But what exactly does an announcement about the go ahead for a feasibility study mean in real terms? explain it like i’m 5.

Or, explain it in relational terms.  i’m dating someone new. …. where am I at in this relationship?

Neither of you are committed and still seeing other people.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
