Sam McClure is reporting on trade radio that Freo are looking to trade him if possible. Obviously has had some troubles but has insanely good talent and would come super cheap. Worth a look for the right price?

Sam probably read that on a fake Twitter account.  Much like what he reports.  He was caught out last week.

Take no notice of that peanut

No.

After further thought... absolutely no.

I honestly believed he would become one of the best players in the comp. He looked every bit a star in the making. There wouldn’t be many takers now if any.

One of the biggest wastes of talent in the last decade.  Probably part of the great legacy that Karmichael Hunt left at the Suns.

Colin Sylvia would give him a good run for that title, maybe he was the decade before Bennell

I'd eat a Sylvia Bennell [censored] sandwich for pick 5 & 6 though. Party in Bali on minimum afl wage for 3 years.

Brilliant idea.  Sign up Bennell & Re rookie Sylvia.

We have the culture to take on someone like this... but Bennell is too far gone for mine.  I don't think the best culture in the world could keep him under wraps.

No from me too.

Yeah he has had 7 seasons to get his body and professionalism right... no chance he makes it. Hopefully he goes to Carlton and makes them implode so they can dive deeper into illrelvance.

The number you have called is not connected. Please check before dialling again..

I'd take him. Sure he has been a fruit loop and has had his fair share of injuries but he'd come for free so what's there to lose. I think our club is strong enough to handle him if he goes awol. He was one of the best players in the comp at his best so he'd be in our top 5 players if he got healthy.

We’d have plenty to lose. You don’t want this guy and what he gets up to off the field anywhere near the club.

Absolutely NO. The positive is, Freo are clearing up cap space.

Not sure he would necessarily clear up cap space, having signed a new contract a month ago.

It certainly would ....... May may be stretching that already.

mutual agreement, he'll ask for match payments for 2019 season ie: 22 x $4,000 per game and move on.

Too much baggage sadly because he’s a great talent and bargain basement price.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
