A sensational draft period for the Dees, well done to Jason Taylor and his team.

Awesome build up going into 2020.

Welcome back to a great surname

"Rivers what a mark"

onya Riv.

There are a lot of self proclaimed draft experts here - I’m not one of them, but if we were keen enough on Kozzie to have used pick 8 originally (and no-one knows for sure if this is the case), then Rivers is a free set of steak knives. Seems like they executed a good trading strategy.

Is it just me, or are others concerned that we have just drafted 3 young men from interstate? We lost Jesse Hogan because of the go home factor, so why would these guys be any different? We have seen Geelong lose Kelly for the same reason, Dangerfield left Adelaide. Probably countless others. Hope I am wrong, but the warning signs are there

You clearly haven’t looked at the breakdown of interstate players on our list, let alone the list of every other club in Australia.

If they leave they leave, you can’t confine yourself to just Victorian selections off the back of selective player choices.

I think it’s a bit of paranoia, which is fair enough after the years of Hogan ‘will-he-won’t-he’ drama.  As far as I can see, we currently have 13 players on our list who were drafted from interstate.

These three newbies will be part of a group of sixteen interstate players at the club who can empathise and support each other.

Confirming your hope..... You're wrong.... chill time.

So many interstate players that are not playing in their native towns remain at their new clubs far outweigh the odd couple that want to shift back.

The best mates thing worked out well with Trenners and Tappy so fingers crossed this one does as well.

Others who come to mind are Trac & Brayshaw, Jetta & Bennell, and also ANB & Stretch.  (And, of course, the ones we SHOULD have had -- Viney & Wines...!)

Not sure what you’re trying to say V, how have any of those stopped a “go home factor” because they drafted a gun then a mate later on?

From East Fremantle which is the same junior club as Luke Jackson!

Goodbye go home factor.

Not quite junior club DD, That's their WAFL Club

Rivers is from Willetton Junior Footy Club same as Kane Lucas, Aaron Sandilands, Shaun Mcmanys, Dom Cassisi, Rhys Palmer and Richard Hadley

Jackson hails from Bullcreek Leeming who produced a couple of Brownlow Medalists/Premiership guns in Simon Black and Ben Cousins

Rival clubs from the South East of Perth right next to each other, so you're correct no go home factor all 3 new interstate boys can bond together

There’s a nice little clip which I’m having trouble posting here for some reason on the club’s social pages of Trent and his family reacting to his name being called out. Judging by his reaction it took a while to sink in he’s now an AFL player.

The best reaction came from the family dog, thought it was going for a walk.

Maybe Rivers swapped teams late because he's listed as Bullcreek-Leeming all through pre draft stuff and there's stats for him playing a lot of juniors there. But might not have crossed paths with Jackson until WAFL juniors?

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
