  • Demonland changed the title to Bedford Makes a Flash

Seems like a nice kid.

Hope he makes it.

*I hope they all make it

Some pre draft experts last year were of the opinion he has the best potential X factor of all players in last year's draft. Look forward to seeing it in 2020 and beyond.

Nice to see him mark the ball and in front of the coaches as well

Still only 19, watched him last year at Casey where he made steady progress

Still needs another year at casey.

Must be a chance for Round 1.

With all due respect to Bedford, he is no chance for a gig come Round 1.  Too many in front of him.

However, his game yesterday was encouraging, even if it was only a scratch match.  If anything it shows some improvement to our overall depth for 2020.

Very nice game yesterday.  His last goal was a beauty.

Certainly was. It was the highlight of the day.

Agree with you Wiseblood on Bedford, but I think our depth has improved considerably this year. And because of that I think selecting a best 22 come round 1 will be a headache. Baring the injured players, I think there could be 31 players vying for 22 spots - and I cannot remember the last time we were in such a good shape.

Touch wood.

If Bedford is making a flash as the thread title states, the last thing I'd do is touch wood, Tony.

Has always looked a likely prospect at training but last year had minimal disposals for Casey. Obviously couldn’t get his own ball but looked good on the weekend. He is now running second for endurance in the club time trials, is quick and agile so there is something to work with there. Let’s hope for consistent good form at Casey and maybe a cameo later in the year in the firsts.

The comedy festival is still 2 months away mate. You're using up your best material too early.

Thought he looked very promising; perhaps not pushing for early rounds, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a debut at some stage this season.  He's a great athlete and has completely transformed physically - an exciting prospect.

One of things I'm really excited about is the synergy/ bond that Kozzie and Bedford seem to have developed already. I think they are very supportive of each other. I can just see something special building in future years and see them causing havoc like Ryan and Rioli have done  (well up till Rioli had a brain fade).

The Flasher in my local park was considering retirement but he decided to stick it out for another year.

Haha!  I once told my dear old mum this very same joke and she seemed to find if funny.

Later, I overheard her telling her sister but she told the punchline as "He decided to hang around a bit longer".

So, even though she stuffed up the punchline, incredibly the joke still worked!

Apparently he flashed at two elderly women last week. One had a stroke. The other wasn't quick enough.

Anyway, this thread was supposed to be about a Melbourne player in Bedford, not a Carlton player in  commodore.

Thanks for making me smile !

Played Round 1 (6 months ago)  and hasnt been seen since.  I would love to see him play tomorrow night.   Thats if he is even in the hub.

Pickett and Bedford both in the team please now that we have two exciting talls (Weid and LJ) providing a nice contest.

Two talls -   LJ ,Weid

Two mid sized forwards  -  Fritsch, Melk

Two small forwards -  Pickett,  Bedford

Its a nice mix.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
