The club now have, unsurprisingly, made a private commitment to Taj that he will become a Melbourne player at the draft 👏

Thats because they linked to The West Newspaper online site, you need to pay. Sorry I don't have membership there either.  Maybe on the AFL site?

there are browser extensions that can get around paywalls. I use Extreme Paywall Bypasser. It pays to turn it off when not needed as it can interfere with sites you have a paid subscription to.

To have Woeys son at the Dees would be an extra bit of cream on our Granny cake and with our FD development team the sky is the limit for all our draftees. How good would it be to have Taj running around in the Red & Blue.💕❤️💙

Several other sons of our greats of the past will be further tempted to get to the Dees under the F&S highway, as well, once they realise that Taj made it - and would fit in just fine. This is in the true 'dynastic' evolution of our now-successful football team, surely? I'd be thinking Whitey(s), the Oxen and the Farmers, amongst others in that category...

Taj Woewodin has finished in third place for the East Fremantle Colts Best & Fairest (The Len Anderson Medal).

Placings were:-

1. Tom McGrath 163 votes

2. Josh Browne 160 votes

3. Taj Woewodin 149 votes

Voting was on a 5,4,3,2,1 per game basis

Just checking and it looks like McGrath played 18 games compared to Woewodin 15 and Browne 14.

Interestingly, Twomey had Browne in his U19 team of the year but he isn't in the top 30 of the draft.

Averaged 32 touches at colts level and kicked 11 goals....

Number 22 is vacant with Vanders leaving, maybe it’s fate?

Hope so, will add another rich layer to the connection developing between the past and present players!

Maybe give him #2 so he can set his own path, but having seen him play he’s got the work rate and desire of his father, which Chunk also displayed

Anyone know the cutoff date for nominating as a father-son selection?  Definitely like to see us nominate Woey jnr.

isn't it the other way around? he needs to nominate as a father-son, not us nominate him as one?

for example, jase burgoyne nominated for port as a father-son yesterday

its two way nominations have to be mutual

I’m interested to see if he can become a good kick on both sides of his body. It’s incredibly rare these days. I think it’s the great untapped weapon of opening the game up.

Goody trained it a fair bit when he first took over but it hasn’t really come in to our game days. Melksham the only one who has regular success on his non preferred. Brayshaw hasn’t hit a target on his left in 4 years.

Does Taj and the club need to lodge the father-son papers today to make this happen?

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
