Whoever designs our new elite training headquarters will need to install a permanently revolving door out front.

I'll leave this thread up so the coterie of clowns can have their laugh and be laughed out.

On a related note enough with the trade everyone threads. If a genuine whisper is out there in the media we'll allow discussion.

Some valid discussions around the trading of certain players in these threads and the value and talent which can be obtained through these specific trades.

Agreed

Talk about the lunatics running the asylum.

Oh FFS.  ??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️

this is the last time I’m coming on here until pre-season starts.

My head hurts from reading this garbage.

Can we have a special unique, bizarre thread where people only post actual news or at least rumours of substance.

Give this thread three pages and people will be talking about how the McDonald's are disgruntled and want out and Tom only played badly this season because he was put of by Mahoney eyebrows.

I KNEW IT !!!!!

As good as gone if you ask me.

Don’t know if it is the Macs but I understand 2 players want out and a 3rd is leaning that way.

I understand that, outside of a few fringe players who didn't get much game time, that the rest of the list are strongly committed to the club and are as keen as mustard to atone for this season.

Can we start the 'Trade Everyone' thread and be done with the club?

A merger is on the cards? Footscray, North, Hawthorn, whoever?

Oscar Mc ain't up to it - and so Tom Mc ain't interested if his brother doesn't get a game? He has stated that in the past.

We know, Lewis and Maynard, they retired and the 3rd is Tim Smith who's been rumoured to retire. No need for smoke and mirrors

Well...... Don't leave us all hanging!! who do you think/know that it is??

It would reduce my stress levels immeasurably. T Mac frustrates me like no other player before him. Including a certain J Watts.

Still wouldn't trade him though. What would we even get for him? Not enough to make it worthwhile.

Whilst we are all in the mathematics of trying to improve the team, we should see how we can really engineer a coup. Let’s trade both Tom McDonald and his brother Oscar McDonald to the Suns. The Ballarat boys would love the sun and surf.  They both have frustrated the hell out of me and I’m yet to be convinced they would be up getting premiership medallions on the big dance day.

What would the disparate and desparate Suns give?  Ben King and pick 40 (start of 3rd round).

why not see what rebuild we can truly deliver

Fun fact, they are actually from Edenhope and went to St Pats College here in Ballarat. Not Ballarat boys per se.

And no....we shouldn't trade Tom

I'd be surprised if J Smith doesnt request a trade

He'll probably feel better with Misson out the door.

That would be a pity. He's shown a lot of promise when he's been able to get on the park.

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
