Really hope we can win this, bugger the second pick I want Carlton to be below us.

Cmon dees!

I thought Petracca lifted in the middle once Viney went off.

Out for the day with concussion, from said hip and shoulder.

No hip.  Raised shoulder straight into the side of his jaw while standing.  Should get weeks.

And that's his problem.  Nowhere to be seen for 20.  Turnover after turnover.  Then puts in 10 to 15 minutes of ok footy.  It's Rnd 18 not the first match or two and he's been in the system long enough to know what's needed at this level by now.  Rarely finishes when required either.  Great work ethic and andeavour but doesn't cut it for long enough often enough at AFL level.

Another superb kick by ANB, gives us a goal in the third! Great pass to Fritsch

The side has been showing some signs of coming back into form.

Putting some good minutes together.

Hunt might not have big numbers but he’s having a very efficient game up forward. Bring it home Dees!

He has been hunting the ball.

I have liked what i have seen from him today in that regard. Long may it continue.

Is it coincidence that we started playing better once Viney was off?

Just sayin...

mmmm, not the first time at all, agreed.

Dees leading free kicks 14-7 since during 1st Q. Funny how you win frees when you crack in and play well

2 decent quarters, we at least look like a team. Put Melksham and an in-form Tom Mac into that, get some games into Lever and Jetta, and we'd be on our way.

Going to miss Viney (plus his rotations) for the last quarter, could be the difference.

We hit the front at 3/4 time against West Coast, who are fighting for a top 2 spot. Yet there are are hardly any posts? Makes you wonder.

Viney initiated it. Shouldn't get weeks for that.

I just want to see these Eagles trip over their inflated egos.

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
