Looking at that team, to me, it looks light on midfield rotations. Of the 8 named on the IC, 5 of them are defensive players and 1 is a Ruck/forward leaving just 2 who can have time in the midfield. Not at all balanced to my mind.

Wtf???  Which Oscar are you referring to?  Is this an attempt at humour by Goodie?  How did he get on the emergencies list??  Surely he will be at Casey

Weird that Oscar was named given the club said during the week he would play VFL this week.

Hibberd for Wagner seems like it could be the only change, unless maybe C.Wagner replaces ANB? Or could Lewis come in for Petty and we go with just the two talls?

Only confirms, once again, how out of the loop the average fan is as to what's really happening. Selection is not just based on what's on view to the public. Thankfully.

Good for Oscar to be putting his hand up.

After his in and under game last week Lewis may be part of the rotations,. I think final I/C will be Hore, Hibberd, Petty and 1 of Lewis/ANB

Rotations through middle Viney, Oliver, Gus  Trac, Jones and Harmes + 1 of Nibbler/Lewis

Good to see Selwood's knee-dropping, ducking protege, Rhys Mathieson has been dropped.  That is a few 'head high' frees we won't 'give away'.

Was originally thinking we might only go with Frost and May against Hipwood and Mcstay, but they also have Mcinhernney to throw forward and give Martin a chop out.

Will be interesting

I suspect it about confidence. The club is saying we rate you. You are in the frame and will be back soon.

That and trolling the naysayers on demonland.

All about Attitude

who wants to win and who is willing to push hard for it.

It will be a tough night up in Brisvegas, for sure. But it can be a good one

We have to get used to winning the hard games..

Hibberd for Wagner seems like the only change for me although can't see how Hannan holds is spot with 3 absolute stinkers......(he wouldn't get a game for Casey at the moment)

I thought I knew a little about the game but like what bing181 said, as supporters we obviously have no idea what goes on in the inner sactum.

What, you don't think the club agrees with the demonland posters who seriously believe he will never be selected again? I mean don't they know he is not AFL standard?

I very much doubt he'll be selected but will go back to Casey with a very public and clear statement of support from the club (no doubt partly to counteract the white  noise of virtoil out in unsocial media land) and get some form back. Good man management.

As I have said he'll be back soon enough. Some elephant.

Final change will just be Hibberd for Wagner. Feels very weird not having to replace an injured player!

I think Lewis comes in too and ANB is the likely out.

Hannan is very lucky given his last couple of games.

Hannan has been average since 2017. Let's be honest. He had a good finals series and like a few others appears to be running on fumes this year.

To provide context, The blokes been injured, is that fair and reasonable? The FD clearly rate his flexibility and a prepared to back him for a run of games, rather than drop after 2.

It didn't say his averageness wasn't justified. I just said he'd been average since 2017. His versatility is obviously important but how long do we carry players who need 1+ months to find form after injuries? At least AVB has immediate impact.

Petty is a better investment in the backline than either Lewis or OMac.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
