a lot of positives so far tonight, playing well as a team. poor disposals are still there but not as many and not hurting us as badly as past weeks.  we certainly in with a chance regardless of the umpires.

Petty looks a player. Hasn't done much but a good intercept Mark and a few spoils nice size looks composed..

Cannot believe the posters saying we’re in this....... especially at times when we are in front! WTF

tidy up some goal kicking and fwd 50 entries and we are 5 goals up. Not in the bag yet but sheesh we are killing it over there

We went in undercooked this year but I wasn’t expecting it to include the coaching staff.

They’ve evolved.

Lacking the polish that would have us almost home

But loving the aggressive movement through the middle

This is what I don’t understand, how isn’t this addressed, Carey, BT, Dunstall have all spotted the issue, yet he’s shanking them left and right every week.

Trac needs to chat to a specialist goal kicking coach, clearly Melbourne don’t have one.....

No he needs to see a psychologist. This is purely mental. He is terrified of missing and you can see it clearly in his face.

Ok we are still in front, they are potentially 2 down. We need to take advantage of that. I like our run and play on but sometimes I feel we are doing one to many handballs where we should just be getting it long.

I like how Baker went in to stand up for harmes in that quarter.

If we can get 2 or 3 goals from Trac and Tommy finds his 1st quarter form we can hold on.

Maxy is rucking brilliantly.

Come on dees we can do this.

Needs to talk to Russell Robertson. I remember he went through a similar faze earlier on in his career, fixed it up and become one of our most accurate kicks for goal.

We lost our energy after that small break in play. Hopefully we can capitalise this qtr

100%

from memory he lowered his ball drop, learned to take a big breath before beginning his approach, and relax then kick through it

Couldn’t hurt as he is putrid at the moment. Makes Casboult look like a dead eye.

Trac is a good long kick.

But his kicking for goal whether from a mark or snapping or on the run is horrible. He needs help

Incidentally, Elliot Yeo is up to ten tackles at half time.  Say what you will about his ducking cheating rubbish wehn he has the ball, he's putting in the effort.

I hope one day he ducks and someone actually really hurts him. Cheat!

I love the way we are playing this game. I like the games of Baker, Petty and also T. Smith.

Come on Melbourne

Stretch's kicking inside 50 ....blah !!!   TRAC THAT IS [censored] RUBBISH!!!!

I don’t think we’ll win this but this has been reassuring. May Lever Jetta melk Hannan and we’re back

OTOH please can we get pe-trarckarh’s kicking sorted

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
