As North play Syd this week and us having difficult games vs WCE and Adel before the draft, it is quite probable we will be 2nd or 3rd bottom in two weeks.

Carlton and Sydney also interested in Dunkley (Syd passed on him as F/S but now want him) so we have a good chance of getting Lowson (or the next best).

Edit: Just saw this Kyle Dunkley  Interest from Sydney, Carlton, Gold Coast and Richmond believed to be keeping tabs on the son of ex-Swan Andrew.  As a hard it mid-fielder I can see why we aren't a suitor.

So Lowson might slip thru to us.

Is he any good?  Position?   Height?  Strengths?  Would he play immediately for us?

185cm ish forward, so could fill the missing small forward role until Bedford or Chandler develop.  May have to learn our systems etc, but you would expect a fairly fast path when we have 5 players available for selection outside the 22 atm.

Midfield bomb into the forward line preferably to the defenders. Because there is no chance that we could hit a forward!

Like his ability to kick goals from 50 metres plus.

Don't give all our secrets away ManDee.

Hard to tell form watching some video last night but to me he looks more a Sam Lloyd type forward than a quick small forward with tricks...

Not that fussed by the highlights but he looks a neat footballer, not sure it's what we want or need.

Fast forward and a few clubs Rich and Carlton interested. Maybe a good replacement for Garlett in the coming years. Leading goalkicker in the VFL i think? Get him.

Manbun goes tho.

Lets stop all this image bigotry people...  let people be themselves, and they might just show some creativity for us all...  instead of becoming another bland dees sheep.

At this point we are struggling to score so anyone with goal kicking form sounds good to me.

A small forward which runs, tackles and spreads... oh and can kick a set shot from outside 50. I think we might have found our man as long as he doesn't get snapped up before our pick.

I would prefer we go for a running/skilful defender type, if there's some around, as we lack for smaller defenders with a bit of pace and skill in the back half. we have a couple of the older guys in the backline struggling with injuries and form of late, and only a couple of young kids coming through that probably wont be ready for a while yet, and are using makeshift defenders like Fritsch down back instead. I see that as our greater list need at the moment. but I guess anything would be better than another inside mid.

Funny that Sydney is interested when they could have got him for practically nothing as a father son

I think a small pressure forward is desperately needed.

We do have some injuries but I believe we have the running defender covered with Hibbo, Salem and Fritsch.

I think there is a perception out there that these mid season picks will be walk up starts in the senior team.  This is definitely not the case as I dare say out of the teams that do pick up a player, that you won’t see them play this year.

I would be all for Sam keeping his man bun:

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
