Maggots conned by Cox .... clearly touched in the marking contest.

Goal.

Dogs severely lacking  forward marking power.

Unfortunately big cox stood up when called upon.  Was he given the little blue pills at the ¾ time break?

Bulldogs weren't playing their frenetic 'chaos' style that has served them so well.

In the first half, both were trying to play the WCE 'control and possession', kick/mark game which the pies used very well to beat tigers a few weeks ago.

Neither were very good at the WCE style nor confident playing it and spent the first half kick/mark between the 50m arcs. They seemed unaware of the WCE bit that when you get the ball in your fwd half you switch and go fast to fwds set plays/leads.  Both teams were terribly slow going fwd, went backwards and it was terrible to watch.

Neither has sorted out its game plan or implementing it consistently, so will be vulnerable for teams to exploit.  Teams like us, I hope:)

I really don’t get people worrying about how the results of other games are going to help our cause at this stage of the season. Being 15th or 16th after round 4 means Jack Shyzen.

Our job ATM is to string some wins together and not worry about the others.

Of course the bolded bit is right for the actual team,  But as the weeks go by (4 is maybe the minimum) it is of increasing interest to supporters to worry (or rather speculate/hope) about the others. If the other teams initially favoured to be top 8 were all at 4-0 and we were at 1-3 then probably it's not worth hoping for results in other matches (so let your personal hatreds rip), but it certainly helps us recover our position relative to them if the other supposedly top teams are also losing games.

Maybe Spargo can take our kick outs. Worked for the Dogs.

I found the use of Daniels on the last line interesting but on balance I thought that it almost cost them the game. There were multiple occasions when he was isolated with De Goey who luckily for the Bulldogs missed most of his shots on goal.

More particularly however I thought it robbed the Dogs of a key playmaker in the forward half. The Dogs forward delivery was lamentable.

Hard to see them doing much damage if they continue the stop start play of last evening.

Collingwood were saved by Cox...I don't think they will be coming after the Weid. Comments about Moore being "almost elite" were cringeworthy.

it would have been a very lonely time over the last fifty years if you were only interested in the MFC.

As Sue points out also it is the relative positions that count. I cannot recall MFC ever being in a position where it made finals in a demonstrative manner. We have always been last minute Charlies on the few occasions we have graced the grass in September

Come on brisbane beat those bummers today. That would be great

It is a shame the dogs couldn't get over the line last night. In that final term collingwood just found more space and there forward line was more open than the doggies.

Hope nth lose again tonight and stay on the bottom.

We've been front runners most of that time.  Good when the going is good...   weak when things aren't going for us.  We would pack up shop, too often, too early.

Catching up on the game this morning. The filth look extremely getable right now!

Bring on QB is all I have to say!

They are well below their best. But they have winners and xfactor across the ground. They are most vulnerable down back, where they are still quite solid. Not sure how much longer Howe lasts though. He squibs many a kick coming out of defense. Great as an intercept mark. But those around him make him look better than he is. He's lucky his teammates bail him out.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
