Hope this is not true but a reminder that you never know whats around the corner.

All the best laid plans of mice and men can come undone very quickly with injury and bad luck.

Even with strong depth you can never replace the genuine star, particularly a dynamo like Mitchell.

Take care you Demons, may the football gods smile sweetly at you in 2019.

A quick peruse of the Hawks bigfooty page tells you that they think they have no depth.

Their best player down and they’re calling it ‘season over’ already.

Poor bloke has broken his leg. Report says he will miss the entire season.

That hurts the Hawks a LOT.

Hope he comes back well. Great player.

No one wants to see this happen to any player. We had it with Lever. All of a sudden beating the Hawks has become just a bit easier.

This brings O'Meara & $ullky to the fore in their 2019 season.

We can NEVER underestimate the Hawks as a club.  They will fire up for us.

Scully will be very lucky to get on the park in 2019

This is what I'm hinting/alluding to.   Both those stars are hindered.   As are Burgoyne by age, and Roughy by age, as well.

Seems like an innocuous training drill.

To pull or strain a muscle, even injure your knee can always happen, but breaking a leg is strange. Usually caused by a collision or forceful impact. Breaking a bone is not easy to do.

Seems surprising given the circumstances.

I wonder if it will affect his leg speed, not that he was tat fast to start with.  I remember Nathan Brown was never the same after his break.  Though I'm not sure how the two compare in severity?

It will severely dent their chances this year as they transition from their older players to the next group.  Scully will be interesting as I think he was taken on as a longer project and not expected to play a lot this year.

They will miss him. Really bad loss. Hope something like that doesn't happen to us.

I wish Tom a full recovery, but i shall enjoy watching Whorethorn a man down all year.

That jumper has inflicted so much arrogant pain on me over many years....

Leverage can be a powerful force. The wrong angle and even the slightest of acute pressure can end in many ways.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
