Competes like Jack Viney, runs like Hunty and kicks long like Clarry and doesn't handball!! as he gets clear or has enough power to get a good kick in oh and can intercept like Lever.Phyisique of Hibbo or Maynard.

Great get and will be type to relish elite training standards plus competitive nature of our onballers

Are you related per chance?

That description of the kid is so 2019 mfc. Love the current recruiting group the club has put together.

So with  Charlie Spargo nicknamed Jack Sparrow - what do we call this guy?

"sparro's" = dawn.

or If you like "Sue"...  'my name is sue'  respect to Johnny Cash

Our midfield is looking strong.

Viney, Oliver, Brayshaw, Petracca, Harmes, Jones and now Sparrow.  All tough competitors.  That’s the culture now in our group.

With Gawny putting the pill straight to them most of the time.

 Clearly gotta name him T-Bird!

With Jordon in the team. Don’t we have to call Sparrow Bird. As in Larry Bird.

Another great selection by the recruitment team, he will fit in with our mid field group like a "duck" to water, will look forward to seeing these young guy's develop out at Casey. Go Dee's !!!!!

So should we all put the house on him for 2019 Downlow?

And Preuss

Jeez he lays a good tackle and looks to have nice agility from that video.

Ironically, he's rumoured to possess a tremendous farting capability.

Another highlights video for new demon Tom Sparrow

Moves a bit like James Harmes IMO - hopefully plays like him when he gets his chance

I have never seen someone develop their game so quickly in-season. His rapid rise in the back end of the year was phenomenal, to the extent that it still beggars belief.

A bit of confidence and feeling like you belong can do amazing things.

Stretch would need to go up a few levels this preseason if he is to break into the team.  And even then we would need a few mids injured or out of form.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
