Now that I have moved through the various stages of grief and reached acceptance I beare JH no ill will and I am starting to look forward to 2019. Actually stoked that Preuss, KK and Steven May chose us as their preferred destination Club, what a great turn around in 5 years.

Yep, Sam May was a mate of mine from uni - must’ve typed it without thinking. He’s a very different dude to Steven May who is about to become an MFC club legend.

And, for the record, I did not ever love Sam May.

Sure, Ron ?

Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Name and shame.

I'm too lazy too go back.

Happy to put my hand up and say I was in “I don’t believe it, makes zero sense, he’s a gun, Goody only recently said he is settled etc” camp.

The reason I’m happy to put my hand up is it wasn’t until his exit interview and as old mate above mentioned a week post then with Goody they decided to get him to Freo. This thread was started in July so ppffftttt.

In my heart of hearts I never really got too attached to Jesse, hence his departure has left me feeling a bit... meh.

I took the Scully departure very, very hard and the sight of his malnourished face still makes me clench my fists, but with Jesse, this always felt somewhat inevitable.  I feel sorry for the kids with the number one on their guernseys, who are probably experiencing their first taste of the tragedy of a beloved player departing the club, but it's great to see May and KK already making statements about their excitement to be joining the team.

I don't wish him ill (Scully, Howe, Frawley), but then again, I also don't wish him all the best (Trengove, Watts, Tyson).

He's just another player in purple now.

I dont like Scully as a person but he was a great footballer, whom I have to admit I hope doesn't reach the heights of his powers again. But that is only because the Hawks got another one for free. I certainly don't have any time at all for  the melodramatic "lying to a dying man" BS. Hogan goes because he was missing home.

Howe left because he listened to both his manager (more money) and Buckley (you can play forward). We may have bigger fish to fry in the next couple of years as player managers and other band wagoners whisper to our elite about more money elsewhere.

The club is actively trying to move on from a player and all the soothing from posters ‘in the know’ won’t change that.

If the MFC has its way, Hogan is in purple inside of three business days.

Mate, no disrespect but that is nothing more than your speculation.  It is simply not true.  Without wanting to sound like a [censored] that is the best assurance I can give.  But I promise you are wrong.

A good mate of mine knows a few of Jesse's family. The story goes that apparently Jesse never felt fully accepted at MFC, he was always on the outer. Claimed that even though he raised trade possibility with the club, he definitely felt pushed.

3rd hand info, so take as you will.

Interesting. He seems introverted to me. Not the comfortable in the spotlight. Bit like dusty martin. When he accepts it he might go to another level.

Wouldn't be surprised. Would explain the massive unders we took for him. Let this sink in. GWS traded Boyd 1 year in for pick 4 and griffen and they were offering pick 6 and another later pick for griffen.

Boyd had and still has not showed a quarter of the potential of hogan

Exactly. We lost big time.

I reckon in about 2 years we'll look back and think . The Dees were geniuses.

Edit..I already do. Well done

Is 'kallangurdemon' the new 'EnterTheDragon' 'Range Rover'.???

Funny that a large portion of Freo supporters are moaning how they paid overs for Hogan yet only a very small portion of Dee's supporters are winging we got unders.

Howe left because he didn’t like playing under Roos

They should do a news report live at the beach for Jesse’s first wave he catches back in WA.

Thats because Roos said you will be better in the back line. Howe didnt like to hear that. So after 3 months in the forward line at the Pies, guess where he was shifted to?

10 hours ago, Vineytime said:

Maybe that, but damo is right...Howe left because his manager shopped him around for much bigger money so aggressively that Howe effectively talked himself out of the place. Joined the Pies as a forward..lasted about three weeks there...then returned to the same role he had with us on about the same money. A fiasco on manager Ben Niall's part.

Those saying Hogan did not feel accepted need to consider that Hogan clearly was not as invested in Melbourne as some of us invested in him...playing footsies with Ross Lyon 12 months ago FCS. We're better off the next 12 months without the distraction. It seems the refusal to extend is key here to the club's attitude.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
