After inventing the huddle and living off it for 50 years, it's been all downhill for Robert Walls, hasn't it?

.

…Until now!

If you are lucky enough to get a seat at the Grand final and we beat the Tigers, make sure you have your will sorted, and maybe bump up the life insurance prior to the game.

The carpark would be a war zone.

As usual, too many needless commas

Walls has always had a soft spot for the Demons, maybe through Ian Thorogood, i am not sure. But he has bought Memberships regularly since his coaching days dried up.

How the hell can Geelong finish above GWS is they both lose this weekend?

I think the biggest hurdle will this Friday.  If we perform well beat the cats I believe the momentum and confidence will be there to contest in every game including the big one.  Friday is to get rid our any stage fright.

Oh well at war with the relatives again

People smashing us on Instagram after Harmes photo saying "we're not scared. We're not scared at all".

They hate us. Finally relevant again. ?

Depends on the rain Robert.....

And Walls tipped the eagles for the spoon. I won't take any notice of him. ( Hope he is right though )

It's about time that even Walls is recognising us as a legitimate chance for the Premiership and that means we have been playing good consistent footy all year.

We stand out and why not have them jump aboard. l love that as it makes me feel proud of how our boys have responded from missing the finals in 2017.

Win this week and we will have more admirers on the bandwagon. What a great sight that would be. We can all believe!  We can all dream.

Personally I’m hating this shite. Way too much hype... let’s let the footy do the talking. I want to enjoy winning the game (s) not reading the news.  I sincerely hope we’re not getting distracted by this garbage., we finished 5th and almost missed the 8. That’s the truth of where we’re at... for now.

It's spooky to think that if not for Maxie's miss and poor selection by the coaches against sainters we would have finished SECOND on percentage. We had it in our hands but let it slip through our fingers.

Does anyone believe that we were possibly the second best team over the year? If you do, then the Walls' prediction is not so far fetched. We have settled the team at the right end of the season, we are in form, if results go by rankings we play the first 2 weeks at home (having passed through the MCG curse), we are young, keen and determined and have nearly full squad. So why not?

Notwithstanding that I have secured grand final tickets in the ballot and have strong memories of watching Froggy Crompton's kick sailing towards me behind the goals 54 years ago, I am more than ready.

But I will still be taking it one game at a time.

No argument, look at all the statistics we should be second but we are not and that is due to the reasons you state, although forget Max’s miskick, that can happen. Look more at how we got behind dispite a huge advantage in inside 50’s etc.

I was fortunate enough to chat with Robert Walls after our match against Carlton earlier in the year.  He was most complimentary of our team that day, as well as our talented young list and our game style.  I didn't realise he had a soft spot for the Dees.

Walls never supported or had any soft spot for us. He never rated us through the Daniher years.

Not many people did. We peaked and fell far too easy

Anyone want to buy some grand final tickets?

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
