Voting will be very interesting... a total team effort.

6 - Gawn  -     dominant and give him the Brownlow now

5  -   Harmes -   his run of top class form continues, totally destroyed Kelly and did a lot of damage himself..

4- Salem -     his footskills are incredible. Just controls the game when he has the ball

3 - Brayshaw -    he ran rings around them

2 - Frost   -   amazing revival, his drive he gave off half back was special and shut down his man.

1  -   Vandenberg -   he was a one man wrecking crew out there.. a total BEAST.

Apologies   -  Oliver,  Jones, Petracca, Hibberd, Lewis,  Melksham, Weideman

Jeez it's tough when we play like that.

Armchair view.

6. Max. ( Lobbe looked half decent for the first 15 minutes then Max took him apart)

5. Harmes. Can't believe how this bloke has come on. Playing like a superstar.

4. Brayshaw. Business as usual for him.

3. Jones . In the thick of it all day. Strong Captain's effort.

2. Clarrie. Quiet start but lifted around the ball and up forward.

1. Trac. Did a lot of muscle work. A really dangerous player around goal.

Sorry I did not fit some of  excellent defenders in

6. Gawn - has completed the most dominant season by a ruckman in the last 20 years and that is saying something because Grundy has had an All Australian year as well.

5. Harmes - the most improved player in the comp in the second half of the season.

4. Salem - finished off a great home and away season with his usual style.  Top 6 in the Bluey awaits

3. Brayshaw - another great display of gut running.

2. Oliver - a master class in how not to fumble.

1. Frost - love his attacking mindset.  Will be crucial in two weeks against Hawkins.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
