Yeah not feeling a shoe in at all. How could you? I don’t care if their side resembles a Camberwell Sharks under 16 team, we still have to get the job done.

I’m confident but can’t think too far ahead yet. Setting the bar at 100 point wins is just too much for me right now but I still expect a good win.

I'm not sure that my sanity (or heart) can cope with another tight finish (even if we win), but I know that no part of me will cope with a loss.  Just get it done Demons.

Just win today please.   Leaving to go to ground  soon nervous as hell.      Shame Sydney has played itself back into form.  Tough one next week   but lets worry about today first.

How different was the Suns team when they beat Sydney than the Camberwell Sharks Suns of today?  Genuine question, but I fear the answer will be not much.

I love Pedersen but he just doesn't have a place in the team.

As a third tall up front ... it just doesn't work.

Down back ... he's not quick enough on the rebound. Sure he can take a mark but defence is so much more these days.

Some people, myself included, think Pedo is a vastly superior player and asset than at least 5 other players, regularly selected and letting us down in one game or another, repeatedly. Whether fwd or in defence, or in the ruck as Gawn's back-up, which ever you choose to criticise. We are not going to have him for much longer due to his age, and we need him, now. Strong thoughts, I know, but not rash.

Camberwell, 2nd Div of the VFA, great club. Mrs Jones' meat pies, Moccopan coffee, hot jam doughnuts and roasted peanuts. Cold beer (usually the old-fashioned Foster's recipe in tinnies), and a keg after the game. Lots of choir practice after the game ('The cabin boy's dog was named Rover, the crew all done him over, he was so full of spoof that he couldn't woof, so they threw poor Rover, over.')

He’s been a handy stop-gap for gaps we no longer need stopped. I respect and thank Pedersen for his efforts and contributions over the years, and I love how he seems to enjoy the success of others even when he’s not part of it, but I reckon a few get a bit carried away with how good he is/was as a player.

I'll admit, all this talk about where we find our 13th win (as if we have today sewn up as little more than a percentage booster) has me a little nervous. We're playing a team that beat Sydney at the SCG just a fortnight ago; clearly on their best day they can take it right up to quality teams, and we have undeniable form of blowing these types of games against "lowly" opposition in recent history. Remember late in 2016 we had a shot at finals, were playing Carlton, and some supporters spent the week talking about the ensuing percentage booster? We lost by 20 points. Or last year, North Melbourne in Round 19 -- we lost by 4 points -- one of several costly losses which blew our finals aspirations.

Ultimately, if we don't get the job done today, we don't deserve finals yet again. It will make it 2 losses against bottom 4 clubs plus 3 awful chokes we threw away. A finalist can allow maybe 2 of these types of losses in a season, possibly 3, but certainly not 5!

Dees: don't underestimate your opposition like you did the Saints last month, or North last year, or Carlton the year before. Get ahead of yourselves at your own peril.

are the great days             of footy, played  a lot of  footy  and cricket there very big suburban ground

No late changes for either team.

I feel sick. It just feels so ominous. I hope not.

Please just go and smash from minute 1 Demons.

The swirly wind will reduce accuracy.

Maybe only 70pt win given the conditions

May must be a late in. The announcer just blurted out.   “ Here come the Suns, led by their captain Steven May”. ?

Just sitting down here in Asia to watch the game, only to find that the Australia Channel has the GWS v Carlton game followed by the WCE v Freo game.

Such is life !!

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
