I have worked in Palliative Care and he will be so well cared for with dignity and respect.

You have my absolute respect and admiration. One of the most difficult and important areas of health care.

Jarrod wore a Luek the duck emblem and yellow hat on the tour after his last comeback to bring attention/valuable fundraising to the cause.

Given Jarrod is a big dees fan, I’d really like to see the team wear a yellow arm band on the field of dreams round as a show of support.

Was nice to see Jonesy give Jarrod a special mention on TV just prior to the coin toss yesterday, recognising him as a passionate Dees supporter and what he is going through.  No doubt it warmed Jarrod's heart just a tad to then see the boys play so well...

Mark Knight is surely Australia's greatest cartoonist. The poignancy of this work is amazing - look closely and you can see Lyle's wife and kids.

SEN is running a fundraiser for our great fellow Demon Jarrod Lyle.

Please give - 1300081116

Hopefully, Jarrod was buoyed by the team yesterday and the boys can keep doing it for him and his family.

Shane Warne was on SEN this morning and offered himself at auction to raise funds.

Highest bidder will get the chance for 10 people to bat in the MCG nets with Warne bowling at them for an hour or two.

MFC have to get inspired by Lyles fight. He is one of the finest blokes. Let’s all pray he gets to see us in September and hold up the cup.

RIP Jarrod.

Passed away in front of family 8:20pm last night.

Hopefully we bring home the flag for you mate

Devastating, RIP.

Just saw this. Terrible news. Would very much like to see something on the banner Sunday.

Too young, too good, too soon.  RIP Jarrod.

Public service 27 sept , ryder cup weekend , allows aussie golfers to get there from overseas

Just so sad. I don't even like golf but he just seemed like a really nice person and he is only 36. Far to young. Feel so sad for his family but his wife and his 2 daughters who are so young. another good person taken way to early.

It's a shame he didn't get to see this footy club at its best.

Paul Roos mentioned on mmm last sunday that a couple of years ago Jarrod contacted the club and wanted to come down and just have a word to them. They could use his inspiration and courage for the next few weeks.

Id assume we would wear black armbands in tribute for him this weekend.

This news is just so sad. Like many I am not a golf fan but have been inspired by Jarrod’s journey over the years and his fight to the end.

I admired everything about him and I feel the utmost compassion for his beautiful young family.

Too young, too soon.

May he RIP??

Terrible news, even though we all knew it was on the cards.  Never makes it any easier to read and hear about.

RIP Jarrod.

Wow, not unexpected but still heartbreaking news. Rest in peace Jarrod Lyle, and heartfelt sympathy to all those closest to him.

Bvgger :(

Condolences to his family, and friends. My deepest sympathies are for his two girls. We all miss our loved ones as I'm sure his wife  Briony does and will but I really feel for his daughters.

Now the pain is gone. But so young, so sad. But pallative care is often only a week or so, so i am not suprised and glad he can now rest.

To the MFC, dedicate the remaining games to honor Jarrod, who was a big fan.

He will be watching

RIP

As Sunday is awareness Day for BC could the club not extend its recognition of Cancer and the players wear a Yellow armband ?

( I will now email the club )

Or maybe a yellow ribbon on the jumpers or something. But yeah a yellow armband is a good idea. It would stand out more than a black armband and not that it needs any more awareness but it would make people aware of challenge charity which he supported.

Maybe we could do a 1 minute applause for him to before the game.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
