Thetes the trademark late goal by the opposition...

Confidence in front of the sticks is the issue.

We are cracking in. However, we are like a racehorse sweating up in the starters gates.

We're a 10 goal better side.  At least.  Kicking is the only thing letting us down.  Outside of that last goal there our backline has worked superbly to stop their run forward.  They look up from half back and have nowhere to go.

Now to finish them off in the third term.

We're winning by 1.13 you beauty.

Well, good to see all the issues from the last few weeks have been fixed up!

??

We have got to get rid of this fixture playing in the tropics. So damned hot and humid . Easy game for the dogs next week . This is going to cost us big time

convinced that the reason teams are so efficient going forward against us is because we are attacking so much, and have so much of the ball. Our defenders are caught off guard, flat footed and day dreaming. Reminds me of junior footy, whenever one team is smashing the other, the losing team will go forward once and kick a goal. The winning team just doesn't defend because it doesn't need to most of the time.

we have a lot of talent back there. The problem is that opposition coaches flood our forward line, and have players stream back. It's easier when you're defending to transition, then it is to attack and then defend the transition because the attacking players need to run the other way. Defenders are already facing the direct they're transitioning in.

4.2 from 13 inside 50s that’s pretty much a score every second time they go in there, good sides will give us a hiding it’s why I can’t see finals this year lever was a huge loss

We just play dumb football. Our player forward of centre just get in each other’s way. We should be 45 up but our incompetence leaves them in the game. I am still unclear on what we are trying to do.

Maxy really is mentally weak in front of goal, I'd actually take Bugg before him in a kick for my life.

He should just handball immediately now, it's just not worth the risk.

This should be over.  The poor kicking is just turning this into a rubbish spectacle.

He is mentally weak in every part of the ground. He thinks he is a great sledger and chit talker on the field, he needs to focus on the basics, like you know footballing.

We should be 10 goals in front. Why am I getting a dreadful feeling about this.

Choking once again with our season on the line.

5 goals 15 behinds  .....  woeful.

Hard not to be frustrated by that half with the uncapitalised dominance. Probably should have been game over by 1/4 time. This game is almost a replica of the game against Gold Coast earlier in the year. We are on track for a record I50 count.

I noticed Goodwin has moved smith forward in that qtr. Not sure why?

FMD we always seem to concede a goal right on the siren

Better that Q but so bloody frustrating.

44 to 13 I 50 and only lead by one goal and some behinds.

????????

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
