Wagner falls into the rookies so we have 1 rookie spot to fill and we are 1 short on the senior list.

Jay Lockhart as rookie?

Wonder why we didn't rookie him, which we could have done as no one bid for him?

The draft has become quite confusing, with all of the new categories and live trading of picks.

Who is the last player we've had on the list that sported a rats tail??

What position did he play in Under 18's?  We really need a specialist small forward, hope he is it.  Certainly has a good amount of talent and potential.

Pretty sure he played forward but didn't hit the scoreboard an awful lot.

Thats a bit of a worry.  Would like to see his stats.     Might be another Dion Johnstone.

The 2018 TAC Cup Grand Final between the Dandenong Stingrays and the Oakleigh Chargers.

The game highlights Bedford’s inconsistency in games or perhaps his lack of physical maturity and endurance (something he will no doubt be working on in the MFC environment). He has a slow start, is excellent in the second and third quarters, kicking a nice goal in the second, and fades out as the Chargers make their comeback.

(also watch out for James Jordon in the opening stanza).

Welcome aboard Toby another tough nut who likes to win the hard ball and tackle with intensity.

If young Toby is a patch on his namesake Peter Bedford. Brownlow medalist with the South Melbourne Swans, way back in the halcyon VFL days (some here may recall the Lakeside oval). He will be a most worthy recruit. Of course that is a very big “if”.

Moves like a steaming locomotive, faster than a speeding bullet, images of a Rioli superman, for mine. Mild-mannered, too with just a touch of mongrel. Perfect acquisition.

Unless he chooses to play cricket over football.

Sounds like a player we need. When they say lively do they mean quick? We need pace, pace and more pace.

Loved it.

Outstanding young prospect

Hard at it.  Tackles. Chases.  Knows where the goals are. Demons should grab with pick 50-55 range.

Still amazed he wasn’t given a chance and we let him go 🤬

Giving Spargo a 4 year deal last year meant the end for Toby. Bedford has a 10 times higher ceiling than Spargo. Poor list management.

He was named 16 times for us in his final season for us. Shame it was an injury sub rule and wasn't used 8 of those times. Pretty sure we made it clear to him he would be getting more game time and wanted to keep him.

We run the risk of losing a few players this way if we don't introduce them consistently into our team. Turner, Howes, Laurie should all get significant game time next year you would think.

I too wanted Toby to be played ahead of others and be given a better go. But, the club gave him a good offer and he was not an untouchable. He made a good choice for himself.

I’m happy for him to be playing regular good football. Finals footy even better.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
