GAMEDAY - Round 12

Recommended Posts

Just heading out to go for a train ride down the length of the Busselton Jetty in WA with the wife and kids. Weather is miserable here, cold, wet and I’m 3500km away from the G. On the plus side, the footy starts at the traditional time of 1.20pm here so that should bring back memories of my childhood!

Really, really want another win today, I’m getting gready!

Well, I've tipped the Pies to win. So I've done my bit to ensure a Melbourne victory.

Ok Chook, you're a real traitor and a cunning strategist. Keep up the good work !!!

Well I'm just about to head off from The Manor in anticipation of a Dees win, a gutful of booze and, happily, not being followed by a Moonshadow.

My info is that Moonie has put his nethers before footy loyalty and is locked in a steamy tryst in a romantic cottage by the sea.

I’m nervous, haven’t liked the commentary in the last few weeks having digs at oppo supporters. We must remember where we came from, be humble and focus on winning. Thank god the “what they’re saying” threads have stopped. Let’s win, go to the bye 9-3 and rest some sore soldiers. It’s a long year with a tough run home, let’s not get cocky. Collingwood midfield is elite and they have some smart and skilful players, a real test today, go dees

Pretty nervy about today. Hope it all goes to plan. Need to put some time into atom Phillips he’s been getting away with murder lately. Starts with Big Max, let’s go Dees time to make a statement!

The teams who have beaten us badly this year boast an impressive array of small forwards. My main concern today, surrounds our ability to deal with their small to medium forwards. Really hoping I don't see too many Collingwood speedster leaving Lewis and Vince trailing behind as they run in to goal. I'd like to think we've made the appropriate structural changes since the Hawthorn and Richmond games to ensure we don't get exposed out the back. Our forward line should be too good for them and our midfield should beat them at the contest. It's scary to consider what the rest of the season will look like if we win and win well today.

Round 23 Elliott had a pretty good day, glad he's not playing.

Most probably SWYL but I suspect it is being used in ....shall we say ....  a manner likely to void any warranty.

Bahahaha!!!

”Molly Meldrum’s telephone” is the style of scenario you may be alluding to BBO...?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
