Did anyone see Talia get pinned for taking the legs of the Bulldogs player, that was a disgraceful call and goes against what the game is about.

Yes looked a wrong interpretation

However, as with last week’s May head contacting umpire, in neither case despite vociferous protestations no 50 was awarded (neither forward needed the 50 I realize) ...l yet I remember several times we had 50 against us for disputing.

What is the right call here?

An on the subject of umpires, why the hell do they have to yell out especially at a boundary throw in “no holding!”?  They should shut up and ping players who do hold.  After all they don’t go around yelling “no throwing”, “no high tackles”, or “no deliberate OOB”.

Do they just want something to say, or just be part of the commentary?

The Bulldogs' supporters have had the shortest period of time where they have been able to really enjoy premiership success.

For much of 2016 they were good without being great, then they had that phenomenal month which saw them win a flag.

Since then they have regressed so badly that people are talking about them being in a development phase.

Even if Richmond don't win another flag this year at least their fans are getting to see their team continue their dominance and great form.

Did anyone else hear the small training report on us from BT and the Duck when they were discussing our game next week?

Apparently we are bubbling and training very very well. It’s the only thing we have heard about our training this week.

Great to hear them finally mention Jetta.

This round in 2017 Bulldogs were in the 8.

Result to benefit Melbourne:

Adelaide V Dogs - Probably Dogs, as we'll go ahead of Adelaide on the ladder if we win. However, the danger of the Dogs winning is that it will establish themselves as another team in the finals race.

North V GWS - Probably GWS as I figure they'll get it right in the end and finish top 6. We need North to start losing a few games as we're now in a direct battle for them for 8th spot and North have an easier fixture than us.

GC V Port - Obviously GC. And obviously Port will win.

Essendon V Geelong - Clearly Essendon as we'd go ahead of Geelong if we win.

St Kilda V Collingwood - Saints for sure. Like North, Pies are in a direct battle with us for 7th-8th.

Sydney V Freo - Similar to the Adelaide game in that for the short term we'd rather Freo win so we'd go a game ahead of Sydney. However this would be a bonus win for Freo and it would strengthen their credentials of a 7th-8th spot finish, and more challenges for us.

Brisbane V Hawthorn - Brisbane in a heart beat, We win we go a win ahead of Hawthorn.

West Coast V Richmond - Richmond. I figure Richmond will finish top so it's better for us if WC lose, and hopefully their second half won't be as good as their first half - hence a drop down the ladder.

GWS won't make the 8 they are done.

We will make top 2 so no need to worry?

There is so much time left in the season and so many possible scenarios available, that it's a useless exercise worrying about what outcomes best suit us. Let's just keep winning and we won't need to think about games like the exhibition match in Shanghai. I notice that Foxtel have sent Dermie over there as part of the commentary team so they're obviously treating the whole exercise with contempt.

Hopefully the Crows will have heavy legs after their wet weather slog.

As for other results we’ve really just got to focus on our own results. Keep getting the wins on the board.

I have it on good authority that the producer caught wind of a live ratings update during the match and had a word in their ear to start talking up the next Crows match DZ

They also have a couple days recovery on us, will be interesting if they bring any players back this week

Six changes for the Hawks tomorrow vs Brisbane, O Meara and Frawley out...

At the Gabba and the Lions are overdue for a win. They have been pretty competitive despite being 0-8.  Reckon they will roll Hawthorn. Wouldnt that be lovely.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
