Celebrations!

Adds two years to his existing contract.ย  Great show of faith.

Got to love him:

"It was the easiest decision of my life,โ€ he told Melbourne Media...โ€œThe club came to me last week, and I talked to my manager and we got it done straight away, so Iโ€™m very happy.

Great news. Now weโ€™ve had Oliver, Petracca, Viney, Gawn and Lever all sign on for at least another 3 years. Massive for this clubs future development.

Very well said LT.ย  The show of faith these young guys have in the future of our club can't be understated.ย  For someone like Oliver to sign within a two week process is just brilliant, and not only shows how much Oliver loves the club, but how well we are looking after these players.ย  No putting off talks, no 'waiting to see' sort of stuff.ย  Just getting it done!ย  Love it!

Will be a Brownlow medallist prior to signing his next contract.

Bloody awesome news.ย

Congrats to Mahoney and co for yet another great resigning. Great work guys.

He looks a little like 'Lingy' there.ย ย  Just needs a couple more pounds, and a mullet.

Yep i know, he knows how to play the midfield, there is no hoping with Clayton.ย

As long as his shoulders survive, we need those quick bullet handballs in September

Petracca and Oliver both locked in.ย ย

If every player went into a draft to start the entire competition over, where would these two be selected all things considered?ย  ย Wouldn't be too many selected ahead of them.

ย

And this should be a reflection of outsiders, wanting to come IN.

ย

free agents we're waiting for you.

ย

Please, wipe your feet at the door, and come in for a coffee & Smashed Avo' sandwich.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.
