Oliver now doing match simulation with Jones

You at training?

Would appreciate an update when they're done. Thanks in advance.

Latest from my Brother who went down to mainly see Oliver:

Oliver originally did kicking work with Jones, Tim Smith and a coach, but was spared a high intensity tackling drill done by the rest of the group.

He later joined match simulation and looked good in his eyes.  Running and kicking without any perceived issues.

Just now Oliver has been doing stoppage work with Gawn, Maynard, Salem, Brayshaw, Lewis, Harmes, and Petracca (wearing different colour bibs).

Lots of supporters in attendance.  High intensity session with 28 trying to fit into 22.  Thinks Spargo is a very hard tackler.  And liked the look of Weideman, who he hasn't always been bullish on, but now is.  Says Weideman moving very well and just looks a natural footballer.  Said Balic looked good.

Thinks that any player who has recently had a niggle looks good.  Only players missing are Tom McDonald and Viney.

He's an amateur observer, so Ben Guthrie may be right, but he thought Oliver moved well and didn't notice any issues, although, as said, he was spared a very high intensity tackling session.

Would you be joining in match simulation if your fitness was in doubt ?

Thats a big statement

That the son of a VFL/AFL player and Grandson of a VFL/AFL champion player looks a natural footballer when said player is currently on an AFL list is a "big statement" ?

Looking like a "natural footballer" is a "big statement" ?

OK.

If this is the brother that played a game at the Hawks, I would back his judgment over Ben Guthrie!

Can anyone pass the status of Tommy Bugg and Dom Tysons hair?
As the 2 best mops in the team I want to be sure that when I flick on Fox footy on Sunday that I will be graced with their 10/10 hairstyles.

Conservative, I asked today, it is slow and steady with both, Club in no win situation, rush them back and exacerbate the problem etc etc

You could've guessed this timeframe from Misson's injury report.

10 days to de-load and then they have to re-load which you imagine is another 10-15 days. That's 3 weeks right there. Then another 3 weeks to get to match fitness levels.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
