Not sure about that. I met a guy at training one day who introduced himself as RGRS. Seemed OK! Could have been lying?

Not named as @jnrmac but named by. RGRS was the person who first mentioned his real name on this forum as a call to arms to abandon 'Ology before the Doctor got his mitts onto it.

Love what PJ and team are doing to grow the club, now come on boys time to deliver on field.

As to the good Dr, I do love how he ignores the negative comments about him and responds to other comments, just a little odd. Doesn’t he have a brother who was in cahoots on the ‘ology hostile takeover?

We nearly got to sign Tampax but the market was already saturated.

@Cards13

Yep. That would be them.

The owner was struggling health wise and those two got in his ear about taking the site off his hands.

Within 10 minutes of taking over, he was on his soapbox talking about how only 'positive' discussion would be allowed and that critical posters would be banned.

lol what a badge of honor to wear.

The Muppet was a complete 'Tard who, as another poster already pointed out, was only going to allow "positive" comments to be posted on Demonology. This was while our team was busy proving itself to be the worst team in AFL/VFL history besides the latter year Fitzroy Lions.

The forum would have only contained posts from himself and his brother.

Get rid of him i say.

I remember the day well.

As an aside, does the old midnight server version of 'Ology still have any active posters? Or is Doctor Who like that last Japanese soldier who refused to believe the war was over?

I think it was almost like a run on the banks with everyone moving to the new site at the first possible chance.

Tar and feather him... hang him... burn him!!!

I actually think it’s an amazing example of the care you need to take online. They’ll never get away from it especially on here, and so be it, the seeds you sow, but the digital footprint is an interesting one.

So let me get all this straight. The poster in question (who was butting heads with SWYL earlier)

- is actually a Richmond supporter/employee

- an online saboteur who launched a ‘Hundred Flowers’ style campaign after a subversive coup d’état of a former Dees fan page

- goes on another site claiming to be a supporter of a third club

- has had multiple aliases after multiple bans from said sites

This all sounds like the work of someone with way too much time on their hands.

Or the Russians.

Two fantastic sponsors for the 2018 year, well done PJ well done MFC - fantastic day for our club. Looking forward to the business luncheons - I'm in again for sure this year. Would be sensational to maybe this year hear a touch more from the sponsors with a guest speaker from one of the companies. But I'm their either way ...

Go Dees

Hate to rain on the parade but of course while we have another sponsor we have no idea of what they are paying by comparison to the sponsors of others clubs.

Having seen some sponsorship contracts many years ago they are driven by exposure bonuses etc. On the good side there is probably a bonus for finals appearances!!

I haven’t read the amount and no idea either what they’re paying by comparison to other clubs, only that it is seven figures. If I remember correctly iSelect’s contract is up at the end of the season, I wonder if INFINITI will take over as a Co-Principal sponsor.

3 x $1m sponsors is the same income as 1 x $3m sponsor.

Here's an Age article from 2015 talking of different AFL sponsorship deals.

While figures may have changed there is no reason to think the relativities have changed.

"Hawthorn last season booked $15 million of marketing income, which includes sponsorship deals. With the addition of Audi and the hopeful retention of BUPA, a 20-year sponsor of the club, that figure could top $16 million next year. Collingwood generates more than $19 million a year in marketing revenue. At Essendon the figure $17.7 million.

In contrast, the Bulldogs booked just $7.5 million of "business development" income, which includes sponsorship. The Saints did even worse, earning just $5.5 million from sponsorship and events."

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
