Frost is not a goal kicker. Coaches tried that 2 years ago and, to their credit, tried for a lot longer than I would have. He’s a strong rebound defender.

Yes he is a better defender, his 24 and improving his skills and confidence , however my suggestion would be that to not play him permanently there but to rotate him every now and again. I have no issue in his talents in defense l would like to see him as a permanent fixture in the side.

I am not convinced that he will be there. There are a lot of players that will be gunning for his spot in the team and I don't think any player can take his inclusion as a given.

Many of us here at Demonland are opting for Oscar to fill the fullback role in the 2018 team proposals. I am concerned that he makes many mistakes and is nowhere near the talents of his brother in that role. I'd rather see Oscar develop further in the Casey team, in an attempt to challenge for the ball more vigorously and to overcome his 'fade-outs' with mobile forward opponents. For mine, Tom is better in this role with feed offs to Jetta, Frosty and Hibberd.

Tom proved this season that he is a better weapon in the forward line and we have got to refine Oscar and Sam in the key back roles during the pre-season so that they are cherry ripe Round 1. Lever (who you didn’t mention) will provide good assistance to Oscar and Sam! ?

Frost lacks in far too many areas to play wing at AFL level.

Poor endurance, questionable skills, positioning and general football smarts. For every amazing piece of play he produces, there are at least two diabolical ones to follow. Which is part of why he was dropped toward the end. He is an athlete and not a footballer. 

Whilst I can’t recall the exact numbers, I do remember that we had a problem with the quality of our entries inside 50 this year. We were nearly always competitive when it came to inside 50’s vs an opposition side, but we far more wasteful in the way we entered. This happened in many games, the first quarter of the Adelaide game in the NT is one that comes to mind and generally it’s always an issue on smaller grounds which requires smart and deliberate entries going forward.

I still attribute this problem to the way we’ve rebuilt our list. A contested-heavy and fairly one-paced list of midfielders, none of whom (bar Salem) possess elite kicking skills. I don’t have a problem with the way we’ve recruited. Like anything one builds, you need a strong foundation that will last before adding bells and whistles.

But it is another reason why playing Frost on the wing would be a bad idea. He just simply won’t help us improve our entries going forward on top of his other weaknesses. He is a backup key defender imo.

Not sure Salem will make it any better or easier.

The whole team lacks the confidence to attack the goals, this and the slow speed of our decision making into the 50 contributes greatly to our lack of conversion

I would hate to be a melbourne forward trying to work out where and how the ball might come in

i like Frosty in defense , has speed  can play is a big bodied person and offcourse  makes mistakes and who doesn't. Remember,TMAC' s kicking to  position in his early days and now sometimes you hold your breath and hope. I remember him splitting the goals this year from 50 out. and did it several times.HE has improved. Frosty will and he is still vital to our cause. However lMO l would like on occasions to see him play on the wing. You never know. Your opinion is fine there isn't an issue. We follow the same side.

1/ I have to watch what I say here, but yes I understand Dimmas strategy. Richmond did win the flag in 2017 so i was unfortunately forced to watch them on numerous occasion.

2/ Tyson yip I understand but I want to see more from the boy, he has talent to burn, but maybe a few injuries have set him back more than I appreciate. Vanders I just love his attitude from afar.  

3/ Neal-Bullen happy to give and take.

I think we'll look to hand over the midfield to the younger guys and phase Jones, Vince, Lewis out and into other positions. 

I think with a full pre season Brayshaw is ready to stand up. 

I think forward pressure will be a big priority, Bugg, Neal Bullen, Garlett, Harmes are all good in this area and with the two talls it gives us the capacity to play four ground level 

 

Backline looks great, three All Australian quality defenders, Oscar a promising up and coming defender, Jones has experience and great ball use and Frost i think will continue to develop in the role.
