Angus Brayshaw Neck Injury

Unfortunately Angus Brayshaw suffered a neck injury in Casey's losing Semi Final match against Richmond

I think he was supposed to be wearing #64 but I can't see him in that footage...did he take his helmet off?

A later report on Gus: “(He) came off the ground with an innocuous neck injury. They were very keen to clarify it wasn’t a head injury, but he will take no further part in the game and wasn’t in the rooms at half time."

Not being in the rooms at half time or on the bench to watch out the game is a worry. 

Lets just hope it was neck soreness rather than a knock and that not playing out the game was precautionary.  Look forward to some good news for him.  Good luck Gus.

He's not in that footage as the footage is from the 3rd quarter. They were just reporting on the injury at time.

I'm not sure even those watching saw it happen as for a long time people were asking where Brayshaw was and why had he been on the bench for so long.

As for anyone thinking he shouldn't play, he needs games now and into the future. He's an AFL player, can't protect him forever

The last time I saw him he was on the bottom of a pack. He didn't appear to get up gingerly then he never came on screen again.

• “It was a neck injury,” Plapp said.
• “They took him to hospital just for precautionary reasons, but I haven’t heard yet.
• “I think a little bit around the head too … but he certainly had an issue wrong with his neck.

Going to hospital explains why he didn't watch the game from the bench.  Hope he has a long rest before putting the boots on again.  And really hope he doesn't hang them up altho his well being comes first.

One theory is that the VFL allows for more thuggery because of the lack of camera's on the entire field. And probably a bit of VFL<AFL jealousy. Will we have footage of what happened inside that pack?

He hurt his neck, theres no mail to say there was any concussion.

I'd love it if they had behind the play cameras for all of the cheap hits and thuggish acts that Steven Morris executed today. Time and time again he was decking guys either as or after they disposed of the ball. Or giving kidney punches as he ran past unsuspecting Casey players.

How bout we let Brayshaw and the club doctors make an educated call rather than spewing uninformed statements from the cheapest of seats

He's had a shocking run this year, but he wouldn't be the first player to have issues early in their career.  A good pre-season and with luck he'll have a better time next year.

You can avoid them if you don't play. He got through the season and made it back to the seniors. Put him in cotton wool and wait til preseason to get back into it. Why risk him in the VFL? Ridiculous decision in my opinion.

How do you know it was a serious injury Picket? We must wait for the full story to be disclosed before making judgments like yours.
